Hello,
I’d like to know if there’s a way to automatically send an email when someone starts filling out a form but doesn’t complete it.
What I need is:
The person opens the form and fills out some answers.
They don’t click Submit.
After a certain delay (e.g. 1h, 6h, or 24h), I’d like to send them a reminder email with the link (from the AIagent)
Is this possible natively in Jotform, or would I need to use an integration (e.g. Make, Zapier, or API) to achieve this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.
Jotform offers a native feature called Reminder Emails that allows you to send emails to people to remind them to complete and submit your form. You can set the schedule for these reminders daily, weekly, or monthly, and customize the email content and recipient.
However, this feature sends reminders based on submissions, so it does not natively detect when a form is started but not completed. To send an email specifically when a form is started but not submitted, you would need to use integrations like Make, Zapier, or the API to track partial form fills and trigger reminder emails after a delay.
Here’s how to set up a Reminder Email in Jotform:
- Go to Form Builder and open the Publish tab.
- Click Email on the left and select Schedule a Reminder Email.
- Set your reminder email schedule and content, then save the changes.
For your specific need of sending reminders to users who started but didn’t submit, using an integration would be the way to go.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
Best regards,

Hi Rachel,
Jotform's Reminder Emails allow you to send reminder emails, but it won't stop emailing even after someone has completed the form. So, you will have to delete the reminder email for each individual. This feature won't function the way you want it to. You'll have to use Zapier or Make to achieve this. Do note that you also enable the Save and Continue later on feature, which will allow your form filler to save their draft submissions if they don't choose the submit button. But the email will only be sent if your form fillers click on the Save button.
While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Thanks for your patience and understanding; we appreciate it.

Hi Gaud,
Thanks again.
I already use Make with my forms:
I send the results to Make, then Make creates strategies/plans and sends some of the information back from ChatGPT into a hidden field in Jotform.I was wondering if it’s possible to set up something like this:
- Wait 24h
- If the [Persona field] is still empty → send an email: “Hey, did you forget about our conversation?” with a [Link to the AgentAI].
Questions I’m not sure about:
- Is there a way to make sure the right AgentAI link is sent? Or is that only possible within the form itself?
- If I send the form link, is there a way to access the chat history?
Do you have any idea how I could structure this? Maybe I’m missing something.
Best,
Rachel
