Hi greglennon,
There haven’t been any updates yet. Although we don’t have a solution yet, rest assured, we’ll keep working on this until it's resolved. We’ll get back to you as soon as we have an update. I've added this ticket to the escalated threads. Can you share with us the URL of your form that's having the issue with Venmo integration, so we can add this detail to the escalation? Let me show you where to find the form URL:
- On your My Forms page, hover your mouse over the form and click on More on the right side of the page.
- Under the Publish column, select Publish Form.
- Click on the Copy Link button.
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to add the URL to the escalated ticket.

I've had issues with forms used over the last few weeks, but I do not have a "live" form at this exact moment (i.e. one in use publicly). My issue appears to be the same as several other JotForm users, such as discussed in this thread:

Hi greglennon,
Things are much clearer now. I've completely escalated this thread already. We’ll get back to you as soon as we have an update from our Developers.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

Hello greglennon,
PayPal has indicated that changes made between January 8th and January 21st, 2025, may be causing issues with Venmo payments.
We use the client-side integration for Venmo so this incident has affected us. The issue can be reproduced on Mobile Safari.
We have already reported the issue to them and are awaiting further updates. PayPal is actively working on a fix. Unfortunately, their status page does not accurately reflect the incident, but you can find the open GitHub issue if needed.
Thank you for your understanding.

I'm having the same issue and reported it to JotForm a couple of weeks ago. Is there a way to have Venmo not show on our forms as an option until this is resolved? It shows up automatically along with PayPal.
I read a JotForm response to another similar question that Venmo only shows up on mobile devices that have the Venmo app installed. This is not accurate. I accessed our form from my computer browser and the form shows Venmo as an option.
The payment used to let us choose to allow PayPal and the use of debit/credit care without a PayPal account. Is that still possible while this situation is being resolved?

Hi Dee,
I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hi Dee,
Although hiding the Venmo option while using PayPal isn’t available, as a workaround, we can switch payment gateway. Let me show you how:
- Open your form in Form Builder and click on the Add Element button on the left side of the page.
- Under the Payments tab, click on the Three Dots icon next to the Payment method you used and click on Switch to Another Gateway.
- Choose another payment method and click on Use Selection.
That way, you can use a different payment integration. On the other hand, I'm afraid the issue related to Venmo is still not resolved, and our team is still working on it. If there are any updates, we will get back to you via this thread.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we’re looking into this.

If this is likely to become a long-standing problem, perhaps the JotForm team could relatively quickly modify the current PayPal + Venmo payment integration to create a (new) PayPal-only payment integration.

Hi Dee,
Payment gateways like PayPal Personal, PayPal Business, or PayPal Checkout are available to be integrated into your form. For customers who directly integrated Venmo payment into their form, it is required to manually change the payment gateway. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
- Under the Payment tab, click on the Three Dots icon next to the Payment method you used and click on Switch to Another Gateway.
- Choose a payment method (PayPal Personal, PayPal Business, or PayPal Checkout) and click on Use Selection then in the window that opens click on OK.

So specifically, is it correct to say that the only option for Jotform users wishing to use PayPal is to use a "PayPal only" payment integration, lacking the Venmo option ... correct?

Hi greglennon,
I checked the update about this, and we are still waiting for an update from PayPal's end. An alternative solution has been implemented though. Can you check again if you still can replicate the issue using Venmo?
Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

PayPal Business is not showing up as an option to use. Only PayPal and PayPal Standard.

Hi greglennon,
We have a recent change with our PayPal integration in Jotform. Here is the list of the updates you can refer to:
- PayPal Business has been renamed PayPal.
- PayPal Personal has been renamed PayPal Standard.
- PayPal Invoicing and PayPal Checkout have been removed, but existing forms that the payment gateways already connected can continue using PayPal Invoicing and PayPal Checkout, but it is no longer available for new forms or new users.
Reach out again if you have any other questions.

The PayPal option still shows a Venmo button. I don't want that button to show until the Venmo piece has been fixed. How do I handle this?

Arslan JotForm SupportReplied on April 7, 2025 at 1:44 PM
Hi greglennon,
In using PayPal Business or PayPal Checkout, additional payment options could be available according to the location of the form respondent, such as Venmo as it is supported in the United States. Unfortunately, this option can't be controlled from settings, and it's automatically managed by PayPal. As mentioned above by colleague Alper that hiding the Venmo option while using PayPal isn’t available, as a workaround, you can switch payment gateway. You can follow the steps shared above by my colleague Jerlan to switch the payment gateway to PayPal Personal, PayPal Business, or PayPal Checkout.
Reach out again if you have any other questions.
