Hi Jean,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Our Spanish Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users right now, so I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in Spanish, let us know, and we can have them do that. But it might take a while until they're available again.
Now, coming back to your question, with Jotform’s current encryption system, the access code is required to decrypt submission data. For security reasons, Jotform cannot recover or reset this code on your behalf, and if it’s lost, the encrypted data becomes permanently inaccessible. To continue using encryption going forward, you can reset the process and create a new access code:
In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
Next, in Settings, toggle the Encrypt Form Data option to Yes, and enter your account password.
After that, enter a new Access Code and click on the Checkbox to confirm that you understand and proceed.
Finally, click on the Enable Encryption button.
Once enabled, your form will again be encrypted, and all new submissions will require the new access code for viewing. Check out our guide on How to Enable Form Encryption to learn more.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
The access code is unique per form, and you’ll be prompted to enter it the first time you open submissions in Jotform Tables or Inbox.
If the access code is lost, submissions encrypted under that code cannot be recovered.
Always store your access code in a safe and memorable place to prevent data loss.
Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.
