Hi Felix,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. To change the redirected name of your Jotform PDF to the business name your clients provide on the application, you can customize the PDF filename dynamically using PDF Editor. Here’s how to do it:
1. In Form Builder, click on the Downward Arrow icon on the top-left side of the page and select PDF Editor.
2. In the PDF Editor, click on the Gear icon on the right side of the page to open the PDF Settings.
3. Under the PDF File Name, click on the Pencil icon and remove the current set of fields.
4. Then, click on Form Field.
5. Now, select the fields you want to appear in the PDF attachment, and you're done.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

Hi Felix,
There's no other way to do it, unfortunately. Can you share a quick screen recording of what’s happening so we can try to replicate it on our end? You can upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox, or record with Loom and send us the link.
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

As followed I went to PDF Editor, but there is no gear on my end that allows me to rename the PDF Files. Am I doing something wrong here? What can I do to fix this?

Hi Felix,
It looks like you have a PDF Form in your PDF Editor. PDF Form is simply a PDF version of your form. It can be downloaded and filled out using PDF Readers. What you need is a PDF Document. With PDF Document, data submitted from your online and PDF forms will be converted to a PDF Document. Here's how to create the document:
- While in the PDF Editor, click on the New PDF button in the top blue bar.
- Choose Use Default Layout option.
Once you create a PDF Document, you'll get the option to customize its name as explained by colleagues before. After you've made updated to the PDF document, you might need to check if the correct version is selected in your Notification email. Here's how to check:
- Open your form in the Form Builder and click on Settings at the top orange bar.
- Choose Emails from the left panel.
- Hover over your Notification email and click on the Pen icon in the right corner.
- Once here, choose the Advanced tab.
- Choose PDF Document you wish to receive.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I did all of that and my problem still isnt solved. The redirected name of the jotform PDF (6332595854635661227) still hasnt changed to the business name that my clients apply under on the application. I need the name corrected on the incoming Jotform PDF so we can keep track of the clients.

Hi Felix,
After checking your email notification settings, it appears that the default PDF document is still connected to your Notification email instead of the new PDF Document that has the updated dynamic file name with the business name. See the screenshot below:
Follow the guide provided by Jason to create a new PDF Document using the default layout. After creating the new document, change the PDF File Name to use the dynamic field such as the business name. Then, as shown in the guide by Bojan, make sure to use this new PDF Document as the attachment in your email notification settings. This process will ensure that the PDF attachment you receive has the correct, dynamically updated file name.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
