Capturing caller phone number via AI Agent API

    Hi Jotform Team,


    I’d like to confirm if the AI Agent + API can support this workflow:


    • A customer calls a dedicated phone line that routes through Jotform’s AI Agent.
    • The agent detects the intent (e.g., the caller asks for directions).
    • Using the API or a webhook, the system captures the caller’s phone number.
    • An SMS follow-up is automatically sent to that number with a relevant link (e.g., directions, store hours, contact page).


    Specifically, I’d like to know:


    1. Does the AI Agent API expose the caller’s phone number (ANI/CLI) so it can be passed into an integration?
    2. Are there webhooks or event callbacks that fire after an intent is completed (so we could trigger the SMS send)?
    3. Does Jotform offer a built-in SMS option, or would I need to connect an external provider (Twilio, Telnyx, etc.)?
    4. Are there any consent/compliance features (e.g., logging opt-ins, handling STOP/HELP replies)?


    Desired outcome:

    If a caller asks for something like directions, the AI Agent should be able to immediately text them a link (example: https://dacut.com/detroit/visit).


    Could you please let me know if this is possible with your current AI Agent API, and if so, point me to the best documentation or integration path?

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The AI Agent API currently does not directly expose the caller’s phone number ANI/CLI for integration, prioritizing privacy and compliance. However, you can capture the phone number during the conversation by configuring your AI Agent to request and store it. This information can then be passed to integrations or webhooks. If automatic ANI/CLI exposure is needed for routing or logging, consider integrating with external telephony providers like Twilio.
