I have a Jotform "Survey of an Existing Site for a Solar Powered Water System - CHH". However, the GPS does not appear.
Is it the Jotform app or the Goggle API setup cause the problem? I need help.

Hi Woody,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I cloned your form and tested it using my own Google Maps API key, but everything was working properly. The Address Map Locator widget worked as expected, the GPS appeared, and the map loaded correctly. That confirms the issue isn’t with the widget itself, but likely with the Google Maps API key. Check out the screenshot below to see my results:
Make sure your API key has the Maps JavaScript API and Geolocation API enabled. Double-check that there are no restrictions on the key that might block it from working with Jotform. If you’ve added domain restrictions, ensure that jotform.com is included. Once your API key is properly configured, the widget should display the GPS and map without any issues. We also have a guide on How to Get Google Maps API Key for Jotform Mapping Widgets that you can check out.
Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Kyle,
THANKS SO MUCH.
Here's a second related question. How will the GPS widget perform when there is no Internet access?

Hi Woody,
The GPS and location widgets in Jotform Mobile Forms can collect location data even when offline. You can view and fill out your forms without an Internet connection using the Jotform Mobile Forms app. Offline submissions, including GPS coordinates, are saved locally on your device and will sync to your Jotform account once you reconnect to the Internet.
On the Jotform Mobile App, you can use Offline Mode to save your form to your device for filling out, or you can use Kiosk Mode, even without an internet connection. All submission data will be saved to your device and sent to your Inbox once you're connected to the internet. Let me show you how to set it up:
1. On your My Forms page, tap on the form that you want to access in Offline Mode.
2. On the bottom-right side of the menu that opens, toggle Offline Mode to the On position.
You can't use certain widgets and elements in Offline Mode because they require an internet connection to function properly. Let me show you how to use Kiosk Mode when you don't have an internet connection:
1. On your My Form page, tap on the form that you want to open in Kiosk Mode.
2. About halfway down in the menu that comes up, tap on Kiosk Mode.
3. Adjust the Kiosk Settings as you like, and then tap on Launch Kiosk at the bottom. And that's it.
Note that some widgets and form elements may require an Internet connection to work properly, so you might see a warning if your form cannot be fully used offline. Also, offline data storage depends on your device’s available storage space.
This means your GPS widget should still capture location data offline, and the data will sync once you’re back online.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
