- need both fields to always show a $ at the start. I tried by "making it currency" but it didn't work.
- The second field automatically shows digits in the negative until the first field is filled up. Fix: Can the field just be blank until something is typed into the first field and (bonus points) the person presses enter... then it shows up?
- I have tried: hiding field... , input mask,... neither of these worked for me. also tried the bot...

Hi Heidi,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Since the currency option didn’t work as expected, you can manually add the dollar sign by including it as a string in your calculation formula. When configuring the Form Calculation widget, insert the $ symbol as plain text so it consistently appears before the numeric value. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, click on the Wand icon of Your monthly tax increase if VATRE is passed is field and add $ sign before the formula.
- Then, click on the Save button to apply changes.
- Click on the Wand icon of the Form Calculation widget to open the Widget's Settings.
- Then, remove the Formula and click on the Save button.
- Now, click on the Settings tab in the orange navigation bar and select the Conditions tab on the left side menu.
- Then, click on the Pencil icon of the Condition for Your monthly tax increase if VATRE is passed is field and update it with the condition below:
Take a look at the screenshot of the result below:
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
