If I have 7 sections, with seven dates, if the first one is filled, can the others pre-populate by +1, +2, +3 etc?

Hi Felicia,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand you'd like the rest of your date fields to automatically fill in based on the first date entered, and yes, that’s totally doable! You can achieve this using the Update/Calculate Field condition with the Calculate a field’s value option. This lets you set up dynamic date-based calculations.
In your case, once the first date is filled in, you can have the next ones auto-populate by simply adding days to it. For example:
- Date 2 = Date 1 + 1 day
- Date 3 = Date 1 + 2 days
- Date 4 = Date 1 + 3 days…and so on.
Let’s walk through how to set it up:
Start by adding your Date Picker fields to the form. Since your use case has 7 sections, you’ll need 7 fields. But just to demonstrate, I used 3 Date Pickers in my example:
Now we’ll use the Update/Calculate Field condition to build the logic that fills in each date automatically. Here’s how:
- In the Form Builder page, then click Settings at the top menu.
- Select Conditions on the left.
- Click Add a new condition, and choose Update/Calculate Field.
- Set the DO option to Calculate a field’s value. A calculation section will appear — build your formula like this:
- If Date 1 is filled, then
- Calculate value: Date 1 + 1, and
- Output the result into Date 2
5. Click Save once you're done.
After applying the conditions, you’ll see how the rest of the date fields auto-fill based on what’s entered in the first one. You can check it out in the screencast below to see how it behaves:
Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

If I add an email field, to be typed in on the document, is Jotform capable of letting that address receive the submission too? Also, if I have several different people accessing this form, how is it private so they don't see each other's data?
