my registration form (form Id 201945683192057) is not collecting payment. When I go into the form to add a payment element (paypal) it tells me "You cannot add more than one payment gateway into a form!"
Please help as we have had several register recently and no payment has been collected.
Thank you,

Hi Yac,
I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.
Your form (ID 201945683192057) can only have one payment gateway. Since you already have PayPal set up, you cannot add another payment element. Please check your existing PayPal payment integration to ensure it's correctly configured to collect payments.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Danyelle,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked your form, and it’s currently integrated with Purchase Order, which explains why no payments have been collected. The Purchase Order option is meant for situations where you want to collect order details without charging users, it doesn't process any actual payments. That’s why your registrants were able to submit the form without being prompted for payment.
When you try to add another payment method like PayPal, the system blocks it because Jotform only allows one payment gateway per form. To resolve this, you’ll need to delete the Purchase Order element first. Once it’s deleted, you can then add your preferred payment gateway and complete the setup.
Let me show you how to switch to PayPal:
- In Form Builder, click on the Add Element menu on the left side of the page.
- Under the Payment tab, scroll down the list and click on the Purchase order.
- In the menu, select Switch to another gateway.
- In the pop-up box, select PayPal and click on Use Selection.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Danyelle,
If your form is currently integrated with PayPal and you want to switch to Purchase Order, you need to click on the three dots icon right next to PayPal, and you'll be able to see the option for Purchase Order. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element + on the left side of the page.
- Go to Payments tab, click on the Three Dots icon next to PayPal and select Switch to another gateway.
- Then, find and click on Purchase Order and click on Use Selection.
We also have a guide on How to Switch Your Payment Gateway that you can check out.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

yacfoundationReplied on July 8, 2025 at 1:15 PMI do not want to use the purchase order. We would like to use "PayPal
Checkout" this is the payment element we have used on our other
registrations and this allows customers the option to pay with a credit
card. Please reference Form ID 241567186131153.
In the form we are having issues with the "PayPal Checkout is not an option.

Hi Danyelle,
I've checked out your YAC Registration Form, and found that it is currently integrated with the PayPal Checkout, which will soon be unsupported. It is because Jotform has updated the PayPal integration configuration and if your forms are integrated with the PayPal Checkout, then you'll have to switch to the PayPal Business for the seamless transactions. PayPal Business is more secure and fully supported and latest. Jotform has already sent the email about this change to all its members.
Let us know if you need any other help.

Hi Danyelle,
If you want to use PayPal as your payment gateway, you can just select PayPal from the payments tab and make sure to connect a PayPal business account.
You can check our guide on How to Integrate Your Form With PayPal for more details.
