I am setting up a form where users can select an item (a dinner), and then select the quantity wanted on one or two of the options. (Adult or Child).
It is a two-step process: Click on the box to select the dinner, then select how many of each type of dinner is being purchased.
HOWEVER — It is most annoying that when the first step is made — selecting the dinner — the form throws an ERROR MESSAGE, because the user has not yet done the second step of selecting the quantity and type of dinners being ordered.
I have never seen this before in similar forms done in Jotform.
This is going to be confusing and alarming to users, thinking they have made a mistake.
Is there any way to override this feature, and NOT have it show error messages until the user Submits the form, as used to be the case, I believe?
*** ALSO: I would prefer that the Quantity boxes show up in the form by default. They are now hidden until the selection of the item is made.
The form is not yet up on our website, but I've included the Preview link below, as well as a screen shot of the problem.

Hi Kim,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The error message appears because most of the items have a quantity of zero unless users manually specify a quantity for the selected item. This is expected behavior to prevent submissions without defined quantities, as it can cause errors in the submission data.
While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it.

I understand ... but is there no way you can suggest that I work around this? Previous versions / similar forms did not do this.
Does not seem right to give users an alarming Error Message when they have done nothing wrong. This is no "error," because the system hasn't even given them a chance to select a quantity.
I would get a lot of pushback on this if I published this form as is.
I have tried selecting a default of "1" for these items, so if they select the item, it starts them off with a "1" — but that did not work either.

Hi Kim,
I understand that the error should not appear immediately after selecting the product. We’re working on a solution as fast as we can. Rest assured that we’ll get back to you with an update as soon as we have one.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Is there a fix to this issue yet?

I ended up setting a range of 1 to 10 under Quantity Selector on these items.
So the item quantity shows as 1 — the default — but won't get ordered until the registrant checks the box to select the item.
And now, when registrant selects the box, it doesn't throw an immediate error, but assumes an order of "1," and it is up to the registrant to select the proper number if they want more.
We have some shirts for sale in conjunction with this event, and of course those are sold by size, and can't set a default size.... So still getting the immediate error when a shirt box is checked, before a size is selected.
But I can live with that, because it shows the quantity boxes next to the sizes in red, and it should be obvious that a quantity/size needs to be selected.
