Why isn't the Venmo payment option available on the form?

    Any idea why Venmo doesn't show up as a link when the venmo button is selected as the payment method? On the preview form walk through, it shows the venmo QR code but when you are filling the form in real life, it only lets you pay with paypal.

    Hi Sonia,

    Take note that the Venmo payment option is only available to user and merchant accounts based on the US, so we have to make sure that the merchant and user accounts that we're using while filling out the form are based on the US in order for the Venmo payment option to be visible. Can you confirm if you're using a US based user and merchant account? If so, can you try to reconnect your Venmo integration widget to see if it's going to work? Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Wand icon of your Venmo Integration widget.
    2. Click on Connected via PayPal Business on the upper right side of the page, and click on Reconnect under it.

    3. Click on Connect via PayPal Business on the upper right side of the page, and authenticate your PayPal Business account.

    I reconnected and am still having this issue. Our donors are all local and
    in Soddy Daisy TN. Please help! It is slowing down our Fundraising
    progress!

    Hi Sonia,

    Is the issue happening when they're filling out the form on their mobile device or on the desktop? Can you ask them to share a screenshot of their browser console log, then send it here? Let me show you how to post a screenshot to our support forum:

    1. On the Support Forum page, scroll down to the Your Answer section and click on the Image icon.

    2. Drag and drop your image into the Upload box, or click on it and select your file.

    3. Then, click on the Add button in the bottom-right corner of the window.

    4. To resize it, click on your screenshot and then click on one of the boxes in the corners, and drag it inward.

    5. Once you're finished, click on the Post Answer button at the bottom right of the Your Answer section.

    I don’t know any of the people to get a screenshot from. It was being talked about on socials and people thought the whole thing didn’t work and lost faith in using it.

    At first, it was both paypal and venmo would never finish paying and then I re synced the paypal business. Now, it is just on the phone….only paypal button shows up, no venmo and everyone wants to use venmo not paypal.

    Please help.

    Here is the screen shot of me, from my phone, completing the form and expecting both payment methods to show up.....but only PayPal showing up.

    Please NOTE and share with the developers that redirecting to our Venmo URL from the jotform works when you click the link from your phone BUT if you use a link shared on Socials of any kind, the link takes you to the venmo app, asks you to update and then takes you to your personal venmo but NOT to our direct link. Again, it DOES redirect you to our direct link when you click from your text or email from the phone but not

    Hello,

    We are sorry for the issue you experienced.

    The issue is related to Venmo and we already reported this to them and are awaiting further updates. 

    PayPal has indicated that changes made between January 8th and January 21st, 2025, may be causing issues with Venmo payments.

    PayPal is actively working on a fix. Unfortunately, their status page does not accurately reflect the incident, but you can find the open GitHub issue if needed. We also recommend you to contact with your PayPal merchant support about the issue.

    We are sorry for the issue you experienced.

    The issue was on PayPal side and we are waiting an update from them. However, we implemented an alternative solution so could you please try again? Please let us know, if you still replicate the issue. Please provide screenshot of the error, if you can replicate the issue.

    The fundraiser was over by the time all was fixed. Unfortunately, my big push for Jotform fundraising failed. The board has decided not to use it ever again. :(

    We are really sorry to hear how things turned out with your fundraiser. We completely understand how disheartening it must have been, especially after all the time and effort you put into it.

    We do want to clarify that the delay in resolving the issue was due to limitations on PayPal's end, which unfortunately affected how payments were processed through the form. While we did everything we could on our side to troubleshoot and support you, we recognize that the impact was significant, and we deeply regret that the timing didn't align with your campaign goals.
