How does PayPal work with Jotform?
PayPal is one of the most popular payment processors commonly used with online forms. Our integration works for both personal and business PayPal accounts. This allows you to receive payments from your customers on various types of payment. Your form processes the payments through PayPal's API then PayPal takes care of the rest including the verification of payment to prevent fraud. PayPal has the right to decline payments for the security of both buyer and seller.

What types of payments are available in PayPal?
PayPal allows you to sell products, sell subscriptions, collect donations, and accept a custom payment amount. The custom payment amount can either be a payment for goods or services. What types of PayPal integrations are available in Jotform?
Forms built with Jotform can be integrated with Paypal Business, PayPal Personal, and PayPal Checkout. PayPal Invoicing is also available for merchants who want to send professional and customized invoices.

How do I integrate with PayPal?
You have to choose the type of PayPal Integration you want to use, add it in the form and set it up based on the following:

Can I use PayPal in my country?
PayPal is available worldwide, but certain PayPal products or integrations are limited to a few countries only. For PayPal product availability by country, please refer to their documentation on PayPal availability by country.

How do I create a PayPal order form?
To create a Paypal Order form, you need to determine which Paypal gateway you want to use. It is pretty straightforward! Add Paypal, enter your Paypal account in the settings, configure your product items and save. Please refer to the following guide to set up an order form.

Do I need to have a paid Jotform account to use PayPal?
No, PayPal is available to all Jotform users. However, payment submissions limit applies. The free plan is limited to 10 payments a month. The Bronze plan is limited to 100 payment, Silver with 250 payments, and Gold with 1,000 payments. Learn more about your account's usage limit by clicking on the link.

How do I get PayPal HTML code?
Once you created the Paypal form, we provide an embed code for the form so you can display it on your website. Please refer to the below guide to know which embed codes you have to get.

Can I add PayPal to my website?
Yes, you can embed the Paypal form to your website. To do so, please refer to the guide on the link.

How do I test PayPal payments in the form?
Paypal offers a sandbox environment which allows you to mimic the live PayPal payment process. There are test cards provided when creating your Sandbox account. Please see this guide on how to test PayPal payment form for more information.

Can I pre-authorize payments in the form and charge customers at a later date?
Yes, you can set each payment as authorization only. You only need to enable payment authorization as outlined in this guide. The link to charge the customer at a later date is then provided through email and in the submissions page of the form.

Does Jotform support the same multiple currencies supported by PayPal?
Yes, the available currencies from PayPal are also available in Jotform's Paypal integration. You can even set the default checkout language in the form.

Can I accept credit/debit card payments with PayPal Personal?
Yes, provided that you have enabled Guest Checkout or PayPal Account Optional in your PayPal account settings. This option is provided through the PayPal payment page only and not in the form itself.

Does PayPal send an email after payment?
Yes, Paypal sends an email after making the payment in the Paypal form. The email will be the confirmation or the receipt of the payment. This is on top of the notification email that your Paypal form sends to the payee.

Are there any additional fees for using your PayPal integration?
No, there are no additional fees when using PayPal in your form. Jotform doesn't take anything from the transactions made in your form. However, based on your location, PayPal fees may apply for your business. For more information about PayPal fees, please click on the link.

How do I create a product in PayPal?
Open your PayPal settings, and click the Create New Product button. Give the product a name, provide its price and set up a few more options such as adding a quantity selector or input. You can also add an image of the product.

How do you get paid via PayPal?

- For Paypal Personal, you will get paid once the customer completed the payment process on the Paypal payment page.
- For Paypal Checkout, you’ll get paid as soon as the customer pre-approved the payment in the form before submitting it.
- For Paypal Invoicing, you will get paid once the customer submits the form, get the invoice and pay it forward.

How do I get a PayPal receipt?
The receipt is sent by Paypal after completing the payment in the form. Jotform does not provide a separate receipt to the customer.

How do I add a logo to my PayPal checkout?
You can add your checkout logo in the Paypal settings. Click on the ‘Additional Gateway Settings’ in the Paypal integration and add your logo in the ‘Checkout Logo’ option.

How do I change my shipping method on PayPal?
When you enable the shipping, you can set to charge customers based on the product item or flat rate which applies to all product items. We do not have any other shipping methods available, but we are looking to add more options in the future.

How to create a registration form with PayPal?
Add the Paypal payment gateway in the form, add your Paypal credentials, and add your registration items similar to adding a product item in the Paypal settings.

How to pass a number from a form to PayPal as a price?

Can I set up a cart and checkout pages with PayPal?
Unfortunately, we also do not have this feature with PayPal. For the Classic Form layout, the products are displayed in a list format with the total showing along with the coupon box, shipping, and taxes rates if set up. For the Card Form Layout, the products are also listed and there is a simple My Bag (a cart-like page) format where respondents can see the list of products they selected.

Can I set an inventory limit with Paypal?

What is Instant Payment Notification or IPN?
IPN (Instant Payment Notification) is a POST message sent by PayPal (for regular merchant accounts) whenever a transaction is completed on their side. This message contains all the data regarding the payment transaction completed by a form user. IPN is crucial for your payment forms to work smoothly.

What are incomplete payments in Paypal?
Each submission on a PayPal-integrated form is initially considered an Incomplete Payment entry. Jotform uses the IPN message to determine whether a submission's payment is successful or not. If successful, the submission is marked as completed, the post-submission actions are then performed such as sending out the Notification and Autoresponder emails and sending the submission data to Webhook URLs (if there is any). If the payment is not successful, the submission remains Incomplete.

How can I send a PayPal invoice through Jotform?
If you’d rather issue invoices to your customers or clients than charge them immediately, Jotform offers a PayPal integration to help you do so. To automatically send a PayPal invoice when someone submits an order through your online form, you first need to connect your form with PayPal Invoicing. What alternative payment methods does PPCP offer?
In addition to credit card and PayPal payments, you’ll be able to accept alternative payment methods via the Smart Payment Buttons underneath the PayPal Checkout option. Alternative payment methods will automatically be detected based on the customer’s location — if selected, customers will instantly be transferred to the alternative payments provider to complete the transaction.

Does PayPal let you pay in installments?
Yes. Currently available in the United States, Pay in 4 from PayPal lets customers make a purchase and pay it back in four interest-free installments. The merchant will still receive their full payment amount immediately, less PayPal fees.

How do I set up PayPal Pay in 4?
Once you’ve finished building your online payment form, integrate it with our PayPal Business integration, and add your products and pricing. Once you’ve published the form by embedding it in your website or sharing it with a link, customers will be able to select the Pay in 4 option at checkout to pay in four easy installments.

How do customers pay with PayPal Pay in 4?
It’s as easy as 1-2-3! Once you’ve set up your PayPal Pay in 4 payment form, customers can pay by choosing PayPal at checkout, selecting Pay Later, and clicking the Pay in 4 option. From there, customers can complete their purchase by making the down payment. They’ll be able to pay the rest in three automatic payments — once every two weeks.

What “buy now, pay later” options does PayPal offer?
In addition to Pay in 4 — which lets customers pay for purchases in four interest-free installments — PayPal also offers PayPal Credit, a revolving line of credit that buyers can use to pay over time. Either option can help provide greater payment flexibility to customers, allowing them to buy what they want and pay for it in a time frame that works for them.
