How can I create a checklist for our employees that will be completed over multiple days, each employee (40+) needs to complete the checklist and they have several items that will be completed each day.

I tried doing a form but it was a bit clunky as each day they would need to re-submit the form with the tasks completed for that day so we ended up with multiple submissions for each employee. Is there a way they can just check off each item when complete? and it shows up in the table when they have completed it?

This is the original form I had setup: https://www.jotform.com/build/243404126238147#preview

I just started this table format: https://www.jotform.com/tables/252684455365163

    Hi Jodie,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:

To create a checklist for your employees that can be completed over multiple days without multiple submissions, you can use Jotform Apps. This allows you to build an app that functions as a checklist with progress tracking for each employee.

    Here’s how to do it:

    1. In the App Builder, add a Form element to your app and select the forms you want to include in the checklist.
    2. Configure each form by selecting the gear icon and turning on Mark as required. This also enables a Mark as completed feature, which shows a checkmark when the form is filled out.
    3. Enable the Progress Bar in the Settings tab to show progress and allow employees to see their completion status.
    4. Use the Reset the completed marking option if you want to automatically reset the checklist at intervals (daily, weekly, etc.).
    5. Add the Restart Button option to allow employees to manually reset their checklist if needed.

This setup will let each employee check off items as they complete them each day, and their progress will be visible in the table without creating multiple form submissions.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Do I need to put the employee name as a field on each form? how will it link each form to the employee?

    Hi Jodie,

Yes, you should include the employee name as a field on each form to identify who is completing the checklist. This way, each submission or form completion can be linked to the specific employee.

In the Jotform App, the progress tracking works by associating the form submissions with the employee name field. When each employee fills out their checklist items, their name will be recorded, allowing you to track their progress individually in the table.

This setup ensures that even though employees complete the checklist over multiple days, their progress is linked and visible under their name without creating confusion or multiple unrelated submissions.
