Would it be possible to have the number field (or another widget) format submissions so that thousands are separated with commas?
Thank you, -

Hi Hida,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can use the Masked Input widget to have a thousand separator. It's easy to add a Masked Input widget to your form. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Go to the Widgets tab, search for the Masked Input widget and click on it.

Hi James,
Thank you for your tutorial.
The form does not register the input under the default settings for the masked input widget:
Is there a particular format or way that submitters have input their numbers?
I was only able to get it to work once by typing in the $ sign, but was not able to replicate this.
Thank you! -

Hi Hida,
To fix this, you just need to set the Number Precision section to 0 and remove $ from the Prefix section. Here's how to do it:
- In Form Builder, click on the Wand icon of the Masked Input widget, and set the Number Precision to 0.
- Under the Prefix section, delete the $ sign and click on Update to apply changes.
Another workaround for this is to add a Number field and a Form Calculation widget. I'll walk you through setting that up:
Let's start with adding a Number field:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Under the Basic tab, click on the Number element.
And finally, we'll add a Form Calculation widget and set that up:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Go to the Widgets tab and click on the Form Calculation widget.
- In the right panel of your Form Calculation widget, click on f(x) or the Function icon, scroll down and look for the function called commaSeparate and click on it.
- Now, click on the Add Field button and select the Number field that you added recently.
- Click on Save to apply changes.
