I am attempting to create a form that asks users to upload images via the file upload feature. Once they have submitted the form, they receive a PDF with the details of the form. In this PDF, I want to insert those images in specific places– like the little green/blue boxes that pop up with text or multiple choice boxes.

Hi Jaremy,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
To insert images submitted via the file upload feature into specific places in the output PDF, such as text boxes or multiple choice boxes, you can use Jotform's PDF Editor. Here’s how to do it:
- Open your form's PDF Editor: Go to your form, click on the "More" dropdown, and select "Create PDF Document" or "Edit PDF Document".
- Add the Image Field: In the PDF Editor, you can drag and drop the file upload field where you want the images to appear in the PDF.
- Customize Placement: Resize and position the image field to fit within the desired areas like the green/blue boxes or other sections of your PDF layout.
- Save your PDF template: Once you have placed the image fields correctly, save the PDF template.
- Test the form: Submit a test entry with images uploaded to ensure the images appear in the PDF as expected.
This way, the images uploaded by users will be included in the PDF output in the locations you specify.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Jeremy,
While it is possible to insert the uploaded images into specific places in the PDF Editor as was stated by Podo earlier, it is not possible to insert it into form elements such as Multiple Choice. You can only change the placement of the uploaded files in the PDF Editor. For example, in the Form Builder, the File Upload Field is placed before the Name Element:
In the PDF Editor, it can be placed before the Name field:
This can be done following the steps provided by Podo earlier.
