On my form, I have a total of 45 questions. Each question has a corresponding Score field and Result field. I've added a random generator field with conditions so that out of the 45 questions, form fillers will only see and complete 20 out of 45 questions.
I used manual hiding within field properties for all Score and Result fields because I do not want completers to see those while completing the form.
I used conditions for when it is appropriate to enter a 0 or a 1 into each Score field based on each question's response options. I also used conditions for when it is appropriate to enter a complete or incomplete into each Result field based on the Score field.
I set my form to "Clear hidden values when submitting" so that any remaining questions that were not viewed/completed will not be considered when determining final form status (complete or incomplete). I also tried "Clear hidden values when hidden" too.
The problem I am seeing is only with the questions designed as "Select All That Apply" - questions 15, 17, 20, and 41 - 45. When I preview and complete the form, even if I don't get a "Select All That Apply" question, that question's Result Field still shows up on the final PDF download and in the confirmation email showing the form's submission.
Also, for Question 15, I purposely answered correctly; however, based on the condition, Q15 Score should have been a zero, making Q15 Result show "Incorrect", but my sheet doesn't reflect Q15 Result.
I tried to mimic the same process I used for my first form, which also had similar questions and performed as expected. This time, I can't get it to work and don't know why.
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The issue with Question 17 occurs because the condition is set to trigger on ANY option, which means the form will automatically apply the rule as soon as even one of the choices is not selected. Since Question 17 is optional, leaving it unanswered causes the system to interpret it as Not Equal to for all choices, and this immediately activates the condition, resulting in the Score field being set to 0 which triggers the Results to have incorrect value. See the screenshot below:
Can you explain how a user can earn or not earn points for the Select All question so we can suggest a more appropriate condition for it?
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

Yes, thank you.
A user who receives this question and selects ALL four indicated options should result in a 1 in the Q17 score field. Whereas if the user's response is not equal to at least one of the four options, this question should result in a 0 in the Q17 score field.

Hi GraceLoudd,
I understand the issue, but I’ll need a bit of time to work out a solution. I’ll get back to you shortly.

Hi GraceLoudd,
For testing purposes, I cloned your form and simplified it to only include Question 17. I also switched it to the classic layout so it’s easier to see how the updates work. You can check out the cloned form here, and if it looks good, you can clone it yourself to review the conditions before applying them to your main form. Check out my results in the screencast below:
Instead of inserting 0 or 1 manually, I used Calculation Values for the Multiple Choice field. This way, when all four correct answers are selected, the total score becomes 4, and that value is then passed into the other field.
The screenshots below show the conditions for Question 17 only, so you’ll need to repeat the same setup for your other quiz questions.
Give it a try and let us know how it works on your end.

Thank you so much. I can see the value in using the value calculations instead of manually entering zeros and ones. If I were to go with this approach, I would likely need to adjust the conditions so that the ones circled below resulted in a zero score as opposed to staying as a correct score. However, even if I went with the updated conditions you have suggested. If a user happened to get a randomly generated combination of questions that did not include Q17 as one of the 20 of 45 questions, would these conditions prevent calculating/seeing Q17 Result on the final confirmation email, similar to the second screenshot? Hi GraceLoudd,
On the sample that was made, if there are no options selected, there's no value in the Form Calculation widget. Here's a screenshot for your reference:
This means the form element is empty, which will result in it not showing in the form email or PDF document. There's a Hide Empty Fields feature in the Autoresponder Email and Hide Empty Form Fields in the PDF Editor. I've shared more screenshots below:
If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain more information so I can help you better?
