How to assign a voucher number from a Spreadsheet?

Can a form be created to assign a voucher number from a spreadhseet each time the request a bus ticket.

Just to confirm, are you looking to have your form automatically assign the next available voucher number from a list you have in a spreadsheet each time someone requests a bus ticket? Jotform’s built-in features can’t fully automate pulling and marking the next number from an external file. The available option we can suggest is the Random Value Generator widget but this is directly on your form field, which I can see you are already using in your form.

Thanks for replying and confirming we can not pull the number from the spreadsheet but we can have a number generated. This will not work because the buss vouchers come from another system

As an alternative, if your voucher numbers are assigned sequentially, you can also use the Unique ID widget in your form. This widget automatically generates a unique, sequential ID for each submission, which can serve as your voucher number. While it won't pull numbers from an external spreadsheet, it ensures each submission gets a unique voucher number in order.

This approach might work well if the voucher numbers can be generated sequentially within Jotform rather than pulled directly from your other system. note that this widget only generates sequential values and not random values. Here's how:

1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element button on the left side of the page.
2. Now, under the Widgets tab, search for Unique ID and drag and drop it to your form.
3. Configure the Widget Settings on the right panel according to your requirements.
4. You can set the Prefix, Number of Digits, and Current Index here to match your voucher numbers.

While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers.
