How to View and Manage App Usage in the Admin Console

Overview

A variety of app templates are available for use with your server, including the Store app, as well as the option to build your own custom apps. As an admin, you can manage these server-wide in the Admin Console.

Viewing and Managing Apps

In this guide, we’ll go over the first four options. Check out our guide on How to Enable or Disable Individual Apps from the Admin Console for information about Disabling Apps and Deleting them.

  • View App: Use this to view the live app.
  • View Analytics: Use this to view the analytics of the app.
  • Edit App: Open the App in Builder Mode
  • View Submissions: View submissions related to the app.
  • Disable: Use this to disable the app.
  • Enable: Use this to enable the app.
  • Delete App: Use this to Delete the App.

Process

Let’s walk through the process of accessing these options together:

  1. In the Admin Console, click on Assets on the left-hand menu.
  1. Next, click on Apps to load all apps on your server.

  1. Now, find the app you’d like to manage and click on the three dot menu.
  1. Finally, select the option from the drop-down menu.

View App

After clicking on View App, you’ll be brought to the live app. You can add this to your homescreen or continue to navigate it in the browser:

View Analytics

This is where all of the data about your app lives, including Performance, Traffic, and Notifications. The default date range is the last 30 days, but you can update this to whatever range you’d like. Let’s walk through this together:

  1. In the App Analytics, click on the tab you’d like to view data for.

  1. Then, click on the Date Range to open the calendar.
  1. Select your new date range and click Apply.

Edit App

After clicking on Edit App, you’ll be brought to the App Builder. Here, you can make changes and updates to the app.

You can also update the permissions and privacy settings of the app here. Let’s walk through this process together:

  1. In App Builder, click on Publish in the blue banner.
  1. Next, select the gear icon labeled Settings.

  1. In the pop-up window, select the access (Public, Private, Company Only) and the associated options for each privacy level.
  1. Finally, exit out of the pop-up to save the settings.

View Submissions

After clicking on View Submissions, you’ll be brought to the Submission Table for the forms on the App. You can view all submissions, filter them, and create new tabs as needed.

Downloading App Information

On the Apps landing page, you can download a quick overview of app information, including the App ID, owner, and edit and creation dates.

Let’s walk through downloading this together: 

  1. In the Admin Console, click on Assets from the right-hand side of the page.
  1. Click on Apps to open the app specific information.

  1. Then, click on Download
  1. Finally, select the type of download you’d like – CSV or Excel.
