Online retailers know that reducing friction at checkout is key. But despite business owners’ best efforts, the average e-commerce conversion rate is just 3 percent.
So how does a 67 percent conversion rate sound?
It may sound impossible, but buckle up. With Jotform and the newest innovation from PayPal, a dramatic sales boost is within reach.
Jotform is excited to announce our new Fastlane by PayPal integration, supercharging guest checkout by accessing saved payment credentials without the need for a login. When shoppers save their payment information with Fastlane, all they have to do is enter their email at checkout to receive a code, allowing them to instantly pull their saved payment information and purchase items faster than ever.
By saving users from having to log in or manually enter payment and shipping information for every purchase, Fastlane speeds up the checkout process.
When you add Fastlane to your payment form, customers without a Fastlane account can quickly join Fastlane directly from the form.
How to add Fastlane by PayPal to your forms
To supercharge your forms with Fastlane, add Jotform’s PayPal integration.
Open your form in the Form Builder, and in the Form Elements sidebar, select Payments. Select PayPal. (Note that the payment element labeled “PayPal Standard” won’t work with Fastlane. Just select the one named “PayPal.”)
After you’ve added the PayPal element to your form, the payment settings sidebar will open. You can also open the menu at any time by selecting the payment element on your form and clicking the wand icon.
The settings sidebar has a Show Fastlane toggle, which is on by default.
Select Connect to link your PayPal merchant account. A popup will open with further instructions.
After you connect your PayPal account, the settings menu will show it as Connected. Select the Continue button to get started collecting payments with Fastlane by PayPal.

PayPal was reported to have 434 million users at the end of 2024 and boasts a 45 percent share of the global payments market.
Customer experience
Customers who’ve used Fastlane before can speed through checkout with a confirmation code sent directly to their device. The customer’s shipping and payment information is stored by Fastlane and doesn’t have to be entered again by the buyer.
Here’s what it will look like on the customer’s end.
First, Fastlane shoppers will select Checkout.
Next, customers will enter their email address.
If a shopper hasn’t used Fastlane before, they’ll enter their email address, then add their payment and shipping information on the checkout page as they usually would.
They’ll see a toggle allowing them to save their information with Fastlane for future checkouts. If this option is toggled on, a Fastlane profile that saves their payment information will be created for the user.
(Note that the Fastlane toggle is only available for customers in the United States for the time being. For shoppers outside the US, debit and credit card payments are accepted with no registration required.)
If a shopper has used Fastlane before, they’ll receive a one-time code sent directly to their device. After entering the code, their payment and shipping information will be automatically pulled into the checkout page.
Returning shoppers can review the contact and payment information supplied by Fastlane and change it if they wish.
Did you know?
Fastlane by PayPal doesn’t share shoppers’ full card numbers or CVV codes. It shares customers’ email addresses, phone number, shipping and billing address, and credit card expiration date. PayPal also encrypts all personal information used to complete Fastlane purchases.
The user will select the Submit button to complete the transaction.
Fastlane FAQs:

A fast, secure way to complete purchases
PayPal is already one of the most popular ways to pay in the world. However, Fastlane can help even more shoppers by providing a faster shopping experience without users needing to enter logins and passwords.
Customers who already have a Fastlane profile can complete transactions in a matter of seconds. If they’ve yet to join Fastlane, shoppers can create a Fastlane profile directly from your form, allowing them to return to your store again and again to enjoy lightning fast purchases.
Plus, Jotform’s PayPal integration supports PayPal and PayPal Checkout as well as Fastlane. With more ways to pay, merchants can offer a speedy and easy experience with Jotform that’s built to boost conversion rates. We encourage you to try Fastlane today!
