Why do some Email fields appear with a different format?

I'm testing all my email specifications for my order forms. I notice that some fields show up within a light blue box while most do not. In one case, it looks like a line space is showing up as an empty little blue box. Why is this happening? Can anything be done?

    See example below:

Have you seen the above question? You usually respond in some way more quickly.

    Thanks.

    Hello bdoodle,

Usually multiple choice and dropdown field values are encased with the blue background in the email template.

I have checked your email contents and it seems you have a hidden field asking for Sail Nbr color that is why a blue space is showing.

If the field value is empty, it will only show a blue background.

However, once a value is added, it should show the values correctly.

    I hope this information helps.

I agee with the person who submitted the same issue a couple weeks ago:

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/4317569-dropdown-fields-data-renders-poorly-in-email-notifications

This is something that Jotform should fix. Should all your customers have to tolerate this diminishment of formatting or make changes to umpty-ump emails to fix something caused by Jotform?

At least, please give me the source code I could add to get these fields to look like the rest of my fields. It especially doesn't look good that State and Country have a blue box while the rest of the address fields do not.

Is there any way to alter email source code to remove the light blue background behind certain fields? If so, please let me know. I'd like to fix this soon. Thanks.

    Hi bdoodle,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, there is no option to remove the styling of the multiple choice or drop-down field on the email notification using source code as these are automatically styled. If the same type of workaround that was suggested by my colleague on the thread that you sent to us can't or won't work for you I can submit a feature request to our development team in being able to remove the background for those said fields. Please note that we can't give an ETA for when that could be implemented. Let us know if you wish to proceed in submitting a feature request.

As for viewing the source code of the email notification on your form. The source code of the email notification can be found by opening the email content and clicking on the source code button. Here is how:

    • Open your form in Form Builder and in the orange navigation bar click on Settings.
    • Click on Emails and hover your mouse over the notification banner and click on the Pencil icon.1663705867 632a230bc244a Screenshot 10
    • On the email tab click on the Source code button to open the source code of the email notification. 1663705912 632a2338d5145 Screenshot 21
    • A new window should open where it would list the source code of the email content for you to edit. After you are done editing click on Ok to apply changes.1663705960 632a2368af76c Screenshot 32

That's it. Changes in the email source code will automatically apply to the new email being sent to your users.
