Hello,
How can I change the downloaded document name associated to this form I just made:
https://form.jotform.com/252744950039057
When I this downloads into the ubox, the title is a bunch of numbers and I'm hoping to have the applicant name field appear instead.
I watched this video, but I don't have those same options.

Thanks for your help!

Hi UPedsEducation,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:
To change the name of the downloaded document so that it includes the applicant's name instead of a string of numbers, you need to customize the PDF filename settings in your form.
Here’s how to do it:
- Go to your form's Settings.
- Navigate to the Emails section.
- Edit the Notification or Autoresponder email.
- In the Advanced tab, find the PDF Attachment section.
- Set the PDF filename using form fields, such as the applicant's name field, by inserting the field's tag.
This way, when the document is downloaded, it will have the applicant's name in the filename instead of numbers.
If you don’t see these options, please ensure your form is using the latest PDF Editor and email settings, as older versions might not support this feature.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi UPedsEducation,
To edit the name of the downloaded PDF document, you need to use the PDF Editor in your form. Here’s how to find and change the PDF filename:
- Open your form in Form Builder.
- Click on the app selector panel in the upper-left corner and select PDF Editor.
- In PDF Editor, open PDF Settings on the right side.
- Edit the PDF File Name field to enter your desired filename.
- For dynamic filenames, use the Form Fields option to select the applicant name field or any other field you want to include in the filename.
This will set the filename for the downloaded document to include the applicant's name instead of numbers.

I don't have that option

Hi UPedsEducation,
If you don't see the option to edit the PDF filename in the PDF Editor or email settings, it might be due to the type of PDF document or the version of the PDF Editor you are using.
Some forms or PDF types do not support customizing the filename directly. In such cases, you might want to check if your form is using the latest PDF Editor and ensure you have access to the full PDF customization features.
If the issue persists, it might be related to specific limitations of your account or form type.
Our support team may redirect your request to the related team for further assistance if needed.

How would I get that updated?

Hi UPedsEducation,
To update to the latest PDF Editor and access the newest features, you can follow these steps:
- Go to your My Workspace page on Jotform.
- Filter your assets by selecting only Forms to easily find your form.
- Hover over your form and click Edit Form.
- In the form builder, look for the PDF Editor option in the app selector panel or navigation menu and open it.
- If you are using a Smart PDF Form, you can upload or update the original PDF by clicking Upload and then Update PDF, followed by Re-Upload PDF to bring in the latest version.
This process ensures your form and PDF Editor are up to date, allowing you to customize PDF filenames and other PDF-related settings.
If you still don’t see the options, it might be related to your account plan or form type limitations.

I didn't use a pdf - it was a regular jotform

Hi UPedsEducation,
Since you are using a regular Jotform and not a Smart PDF form, the filename of the downloaded documents in your Inbox (uBox) is automatically generated using submission IDs, which appear as numbers.
Currently, Jotform does not provide an option to customize the downloaded document's filename directly for regular forms in the Inbox.
However, you can customize the filename for PDF attachments sent via email notifications by editing the email settings and using form fields to set the PDF filename.
If you want the downloaded documents in your Inbox to have a specific filename format, this feature is not available at the moment for regular forms.

2. Next, choose PDF Editor from the options
3. Now, in PDF Editor, on the right side part of the page, click on the Gear icon to access its properties.
