Hi! I need a date picker that lets users select month and year only, and includes a quick way to jump across years (no clicking through month-by-month to reach older birth years).

    Hi mark291,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If you want to have a Date picker that only allows month and year, then I would suggest using the DatePicker Year Month widget. Let me walk you through setting that up:

    1. In Form Builder, click the Add Element button located at the upper left of the form.
    2. Next, go to the Widgets tab, then drag and drop the DatePicker Year Month widget.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi,

I’m using this element, but the problem is that it defaults to the current year, which makes selecting an older date very tedious. For example, entering a birth year like 1950 requires endless “–” clicks to get there. I need a control that allows direct input so the user can easily enter past dates without excessive toggling.

    Hi mark291,

The DatePicker Year Month widget is designed to let users select only month and year, and it automatically hides the picker after selection to keep the form clean. Unfortunately, this widget does not currently support direct input for the year or a quick jump feature to easily select older years without clicking through each year.

As a workaround, you might consider using a Dropdown or a Short Text field where users can directly type or select the month and year. This way, users can quickly enter older years. While that feature isn’t available in Jotform right now, I’ve sent your request to our Developers for review. When or if it gets developed will depend on their current workload, how possible it is, and how much demand there is from other users. If/when we have any updates, we’ll follow up here and keep you posted.
