This form worked this morning but now shows 403 Forbidden even in Jotform Preview. Why?

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:

The 403 Forbidden error on your form, including in Jotform Preview, typically indicates that access to the form is being blocked. This can happen due to several reasons such as permission settings, IP restrictions, or security rules that might have changed since this morning.

Here’s what you can check to resolve this issue:

    1. Verify Form Status: Ensure your form is enabled and not disabled or deleted.
    2. Check Privacy Settings: Review if there are any new restrictions like IP blocking or domain restrictions applied to your form.
    3. Clear Form Cache: Sometimes caching issues cause access problems. Clear your form cache to see if that resolves the error.
    4. Review Account Limits: Make sure your account or form has not exceeded submission limits or quotas.
    5. Confirm Correct Domain: Ensure you are accessing the form using the correct Jotform domain (e.g., jotform.com, jotform.us) based on your region.

If after these checks the issue persists, it may be related to security or server-side settings that require further investigation.

Give these steps a try and let us know how it goes.

Everything looks good. This is an active form that I need fixed right away. The fact that I get 403 Forbidden when I preview the form in Jotform shows me the problem is on your end. Any ideas?

    Hi Alan,

Thank you for your update. Since you are seeing a 403 Forbidden error even in Jotform Preview, it indicates that the issue is likely related to security restrictions or server-side settings on our end.

Our team is aware that this error can sometimes occur due to temporary security measures or configuration changes. We are currently investigating this issue to identify the root cause and resolve it as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience while we work on this, and we will provide updates as soon as we have more information.

    Hi Alan,

I understand how important it is to have your form working properly, especially since it is active and needed urgently. I have accessed this form and can't replicate the issue. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

Why does my form that worked this morning now show 403 Forbidden? Image 1 Screenshot 20 Can you try it on a different browser or device and let us know how it goes? If the same thing happens again, Clear the Cache and Cookies in Your Web Browser. If the issue continues, can you take a screenshot of your browser console report and send it here? We’ve also got a guide explaining how to send us a screenshot.

If you can also share a screenshot or short recording, that’ll help us see exactly what’s happening. You can upload recordings to Google Drive or Dropbox or use Loom, and our guide on How to Post Screenshots to Our Help Center shows how to send a screenshot.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

It works in Chrome but not Edge. Still a 403 Forbidden error. I've cleared cache and cookies to no avail.

    Hi Alan,

Since the form works in Chrome but shows a 403 Forbidden error in Microsoft Edge even after clearing cache and cookies, this issue seems to be browser-specific.

Here’s what you can try next to resolve the problem in Edge:

    1. Try Incognito/Private Mode: Open the form in an incognito or private browsing window in Edge to see if any extensions or settings are causing the block.
    2. Disable Browser Extensions: Some extensions may interfere with form loading. Temporarily disable extensions in Edge and try again.
    3. Update Edge Browser: Ensure your Edge browser is updated to the latest version, as outdated versions may cause compatibility issues.
    4. Check Security or Firewall Settings: Sometimes local security software or firewall settings can block access to certain URLs. Verify if anything on your device or network is blocking the form URL.

If after these steps the issue still persists, share a browser console report from Edge while trying to access the form. This will help us diagnose the problem further.

Let us know how these steps go and if you need further assistance.
