I am trying to import a form using the import from web page option and I am getting the error shown below saying the URL is not valid but the URL is valid.
The URL I want to import is https://postmedia.jotform.com/223485946817874

Hi Chris,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:
The error message "Unable to import form. The provided URL is invalid." typically appears when the import tool cannot recognize the URL as a valid form source for import. Please note that the "Import from web page" option is designed to import forms from publicly accessible web pages containing embedded forms, not direct Jotform form URLs.
To import a form from Jotform, you should use the "Clone your existing form" option or directly clone the form using the form's URL if it is shared for cloning. The URL you provided (https://postmedia.jotform.com/223485946817874) appears to be a direct form link, which is not compatible with the "Import from web page" method.
Here’s how to proceed:
- Use the Clone Form option: Instead of importing from a web page, select the "Clone your existing form" option in the import tool.
- Paste the form URL: Enter the form URL you want to clone.
- Complete the cloning process: Follow the prompts to clone the form into your account.
If you want to import forms from other platforms like Formstack, there are specific migration tools available for that.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support.
I just wanted to double check with you to confirm if your intention was to create a copy of the form you linked (https://postmedia.jotform.com/223485946817874)?

Gotcha, thanks for confirming that! In this case, Podo's response should be what you're looking for then. I'll repost it below for your convenience:

It's not a form in my account, it's from another account so cloning won't work for me.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, Chris.
The error "Unable to import form. The provided URL is invalid." usually occurs because the form you are trying to clone is either password-protected, private, or the form owner has enabled settings to prevent cloning. Additionally, the form owner can block cloning by enabling the "Prevent Cloning" option in the form settings or by restricting cloning for all their forms in their account's Privacy Settings. Here are some important points:
Password-protected and private forms cannot be cloned.
If the form owner has enabled "Prevent Cloning," cloning is blocked.
The URL must be a valid, publicly accessible form link.
If you have access to the original form owner, you might ask them to disable these restrictions or share the form directly with you.
