    Hi Brian,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand that your clients are encountering the error message "Payer cannot pay for this transaction" when trying to make a purchase.

This message typically indicates an issue with the payment method or the payer's ability to complete the transaction. It suggests that the payment gateway is unable to process the payment from the payer's side.

Let me help you with that:

    1. Check the payment gateway settings in your form to ensure everything is configured correctly.
    2. Verify the payment method your clients are using is supported and active.
    3. Advise your clients to try alternative payment methods if available.

If the issue persists, please provide more details about the payment gateway you are using and any specific steps your clients are taking when they encounter this error.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Brian,

When I cloned and tested your form, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:

This error comes directly from the payment provider (for example, PayPal) and indicates that the payer’s chosen funding source or account cannot process the transaction. To confirm that the form itself is working properly, I cloned and tested your form, and the payment went through successfully. This shows the issue is not with your Jotform setup, but rather specific to the payer’s payment method or account. Here’s what you can do:

    1. Confirm the Payment Integration by checking your form’s payment gateway (PayPal, Stripe, etc.) to ensure it’s properly authenticated and connected to an active account.
    2. Ask clients to verify their accounts by advising them to check with their bank or PayPal to ensure their card or account is valid, funded, and enabled for online transactions. Sometimes PayPal blocks specific funding sources (e.g., certain cards or bank accounts), which can trigger this error.
    3. Suggest alternative payment methods by encouraging clients to try a different card or PayPal account. You may also consider enabling an additional payment gateway (such as Stripe or Square) on your form to give more flexibility.

Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you
I did tell the client over the weekend that the problem was on their end, as I had other orders coming through.
    Thank you,
