Why are my Uploadcare images not appearing in PDFs and Tables for my safety audit form?

The form that I have includes pictures that I want employees to load. It is a safety audit. I have been using the Uploadcare widget for the photographs. In the past, I had the same issues due to the pictures being too large for the attachment. This was resolved using a custom string to reduce the size of the images, which worked for a while. For the past 2 weeks, the issue has reappeared. It doesn't happen every time, and I cannot find why.

I used to be able to go to the dashboard of the form and download the PDF with pictures. Now, the pictures are not showing up on that. I can see the pictures in my emails, but not on the PDF.

The screenshot form on my email says the attachment is more than 5mb. I get why the attachment isn't with that. My other question is, when I download it from my Jotform table, the pictures still don't show up on the PDF.

    Hi Destray,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand the issue you're experiencing with PDF attachments not showing the pictures uploaded via the Uploadcare widget in your safety audit form. The problem seems related to the attachment size limit of 5MB, which is why the images sometimes do not appear in the PDF downloaded from your Jotform table or dashboard.

    Here’s how to address this:

    1. Resize Images: Continue using the custom string to reduce the image size before uploading. This helps keep attachments under the size limit.
    2. Check Uploadcare Settings: Verify if Uploadcare widget settings allow automatic resizing or compression of images to reduce file size.
    3. Download Options: When downloading PDFs from Jotform Tables, ensure you are using the latest version of the PDF that includes images. Sometimes, re-generating the PDF after resizing images can help.

If the issue persists intermittently, it may be due to occasional uploads exceeding size limits or temporary glitches. Monitoring the size of images uploaded and keeping them optimized will help maintain consistent PDF generation with images included.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Destray,

If the pictures you are taking are not showing up in the Jotform Table for your form, one possible reason could be that some columns in your table are hidden. This can make it seem like the images or their links are missing.

Here’s how to check and fix this:

    1. Go to your Jotform Table for the form.
    2. Check if any columns are hidden. You can do this by clicking on the column settings or options to show/hide columns.
    3. Make sure the column related to the Uploadcare widget or image uploads is visible.

For detailed steps on showing and hiding columns in Jotform Tables, you can refer to the guide on how to show and hide columns in Jotform Tables.

Give it a try and let us know if this resolves the issue.

    Hi Destray,

When I cloned and tested your form, the same thing happened for me. After investigating it a bit, I found a solution. We just need to remove the File Uploader by Uploadcare widget from your form, and add it back. But before you do so, I recommend downloading the submissions you already received to avoid losing any of them. Let me show you how:

    1. On your My Tables page, hover over the form whose data you want to download, and click on View Table.
    2. On the upper-right side of the page, click the on Download All button.
    3. Now, select Download as CSV, Excel, or PDF to download your data.

    1. In Form Builder, click on the File Uploader by Uploadcare widget, and select its Trash Can icon.

    2. Click on Add Element in the upper-left corner of the page, and go to the Widgets tab.

    3. Search for and select File Uploader by Uploadcare widget.

    4. On the Widget Settings panel, enter your File Uploader by Uploadcare's API Key and click on the Update button in the right bottom.

    5. If you want to allow other files to be uploaded, such as PDF files, you need to select No from the Images only dropdown on the Widget Settings panel.

    6. To finish, click on the Update button in the right bottom.

Could I clone the form do the changes that you suggested, archive the old form, and then make the cloned form the new one?

Within in the Uploadcare Widget, I am running 900x900 85% in the "Image Shrink" and /-/preview/600x600/-/quality/smart/-/format/auto/ within in the "Custom String". I am trying to let people upload up to 5 images per Widget.

After doing way too much research and AI help, it was suggested to try this String- -/resize/1600x1600/-/quality/smart/-/format/webp/-/max_bytes/400k/ .  Would Jotforms PDF generator read the WebP format or any other format?

    Hi Destray,

Yes, you can clone the form, apply the changes, and then archive the old version so you still have it as a backup. Once you’re confident the cloned form works as expected, you can start using it as your new active form. Cloning an Existing Form From a URL is easy. Let me walk you through it:

    1. On your My Workspace page, click on Create on the top-left side of the page.

    2. Select Form from the assets, and then click on Import Form.

    3. In the next window, click on From a Web Page

    4. Paste the form link into the Enter URL field and click on Create Form.

Why are my Uploadcare images not appearing in PDFs and Tables for my safety audit form? Image 2 Screenshot 61 After cloning your form, it will open in Form Builder automatically. You can now edit it the way you want and publish it. Also, Archiving and Unarchiving Your Form is easy. Let me show you how:

    1. On your My Forms page, hover your mouse over your form and click on More on the right side of the page.
    2. In the Dropdown menu, click on Archive to move the form to the Archive folder.

Why are my Uploadcare images not appearing in PDFs and Tables for my safety audit form? Image 3 Screenshot 72 You can also easily unarchive a form. Let me walk you through it:

    1. While on your My Forms page, click on Archive on the bottom-left side of the page.
    2. Hover your mouse over the form you want to unarchive and click on More on the right side of the page.
    3. In the Dropdown menu, click on Unarchive to move the form back to your My Forms page.
