Hello JotForm Support,
I am currently hosting JotForm on my own server using the self-hosted source code from JotForm. If I need to make changes to the workflow (for example, updating the email recipient in the workflow) through the JotForm website, do I need to re-download the source code and replace my current hosted version in IIS?
Thank you.

Hi Mohammad,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I tested this by updating the email address (within the workflow) or changing the workflow of a form, but the source code didn't seem to have changes related to workflow.
In this case, you wouldn't need to update the form embedded on your website. This is most likely due to how workflow is triggered on our server, upon submission of your form, so it's not locally based and is not included in the source code.
Reach out again if you need any help.

Hi Raymond,
Thank you for the clarification and for testing this out. That makes sense — I understand now that workflow changes such as updating email recipients are handled on JotForm’s server side and are not tied to the self-hosted source code.
I appreciate your help.

Hi Mohammad,
That's right. The downloaded source code contains only the front-end of your form. This includes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Features like workflows, integrations, PDF generation, and other server-side functions remain on Jotform’s platform and aren’t included in the code. You only need to re-download the source code when you’ve changed the form’s structure or field conditions and want those updates reflected on your site.
