Enhancement Request for Fonts

I would like to see this changed so that I can vary the size of individual fields so that I can do certificates, letters, etc on one .pdf in different fonts. Also, I would like to merge fields so that there look nicer, for example, addresses should be able to put the city and state right next to each other and not need to guess the spacing.

Is it possible to have more than one font in a smart pdf?

In Smart PDF Forms, all answer fields use the same font family selected in the PDF Editor; it's not possible to mix different fonts within the PDF output or upload custom fonts. Here’s how the font application works:

    • In the Smart PDF Form Builder, access the PDF Editor via the quick-access menu.
    • Open "Original PDF Settings" from the Layout Settings.
    • Choose your Font Family and adjust the Size, Color, and Alignment under Text Style; this applies globally to every mapped answer field.

There is no option to assign different fonts per field, and custom fonts aren’t supported. As a workaround, you can edit the source PDF in a tool like Adobe Acrobat to include headings or static text in a different font before uploading it to Jotform. Remember, though, that all form-populated answers will still use the global font you set in the PDF Editor.

    Hi TSA,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:

Currently, in Smart PDF Forms, all answer fields use the same font family selected in the PDF Editor, and it's not possible to vary the size of individual fields or use multiple fonts within the PDF output. The font settings you choose in the PDF Editor apply globally to every mapped answer field.

Regarding merging fields for better layout, such as placing city and state next to each other without guessing spacing, this feature is not supported directly within Smart PDF Forms.

As a workaround, you can edit your source PDF in a tool like Adobe Acrobat to include headings or static text in different fonts or layouts before uploading it to Jotform. However, all form-populated answers will still use the global font settings from the PDF Editor.

Here’s how to customize the global font settings:

    1. Open the Smart PDF Forms Builder and access the PDF Editor from the quick-access menu.
    2. Click on Layout Settings (paint roller icon) on the right side.
    3. Adjust Font Family, Size, Color, and Alignment under Text Style in Original PDF Settings.
    4. Click Apply Changes to save.

We appreciate your feedback and understand the desire for more flexible font and layout options in Smart PDF Forms.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
