Hi hatcc,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, it's possible to generate a QR code that you scan to confirm their registration. You can add the Dynamic QR Code widget on your form and the auto-responder email will contain the QR code that they can present at the event.
Our Dynamic QR Code widget lets you generate unique QR codes on your form based on each form user’s previous answers. Let me show you how to add in the form.
- In Form Builder, click the +Add an Element button, and under the Widgets tab search and select Dynamic QR Code.
- Click on the Wand icon. Identify the field on your form that will trigger the generation of the code.
- Set the Show QR Image to No, so the user will not it see it yet while completing the form. It will be shown on the auto-responder email.
- Click on Update.
This QR code is for the form itself, not automatically tied to the Unique ID field value. To display a QR code specifically linked to each Registration number, you would need to use a widget or custom solution that generates a QR code dynamically based on the Unique ID field value in the submission.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I want the Unique registration number to be tied to the QR Code. My use case involves using a QR code for guest check-in. I hope I am clear on the requirement.

Hi hatcc,
We'd like to take a closer look at the form you're working on to have a better understanding of the use case, but it's no longer on your Jotform account. Was the form deleted? Are you working on a new form? If yes, can you share the URL? I understand you'd like the QR code to generate the Unique ID when it's scanned. We'll look into this together and see if we can make this work.
When we hear back from you, we’ll be ready to move forward.

Hi hatcc,
I've cloned and tested the form, and it seems to be working properly. I was able to receive the PDF attachment with the QR code linked to the Unique ID:
But it looks like the QR code is showing to the form fillers when they fill out the form. In this case, you can hide it in the field properties. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, click on the Gear icon of the QR code widget.
- Go to Advanced tab on the top right.
- Enable the Hide Field option.
Keep in mind that the QR code cannot be tied to the Registration Number field, since the Unique ID widget only generates after the form is submitted. You can only tie the QR code to the Unique ID field (Short Text), so you will have to use the Unique ID field as your registration reference.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

Then why are we getting the same QR code and Unique ID for different users? See the submissions below. This will be an issue for us. How to fix this? Unique ID has be Unique for every new form

Hi hatcc,
When I cloned and tested your form, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
As you can see, the the UniqueID value is incrementing on every submission. Can you try to clone this demo form and test it to see if it's going to work?
Once we hear back from you, we can help you sort this out.

Can we get a proper solution?
Requirements:
- Unique ID for a User to be allocated when the form gets submitted
- That Unique ID should be tied to the QR Code (not visible to the User)
- When the form gets submitted, the auto-responder and email to the user should get the complete form submission, QR code, and PDF as attachments.
- When a User comes to the hall for check-in, the gatekeeper will scan the code and let the user in.
- Once checked in, no other user with a photocopy of the QR code should be allowed.
UNIQUE ID or any other solution that can tie to QR shhould be unique for each form submission.
See below, Unique ID is being repeated . This is not good. What solution you have for us?

Hi hatcc,
I checked your form and can see that you recently made changes on your form. Can you confirm if you change the current index of the Unique ID widget? If yes, that is the reason some Unique IDs were repeated. As previously mentioned, the QR code cannot be tied to the Registration Number field, since the Unique ID widget only generates after the form is submitted.
To keep the conversation organized, I moved your other questions to their own threads, and someone from our Support Team will help you with them here:
Once checked in, no other user with a photocopy of the QR code should be allowed
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.
