How long does it take to create a downloadable file of all attachments?

I am trying to create a backup of my submissions so I can clear space in my account. I put the request in 6 hours ago and still do not have a link. Is this a normal period of time?

I subsequently tried downloading a subset, and also have not received a link for that.

How long does this usually take? Is there a reason for a delay?

    Hi Darcy,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Regarding your question about creating a downloadable file of all attachments from your submissions, the process involves the system zipping your file uploads and then sending you an email with a link to download the zipped file. This process can take some time, especially if your form has a large number of file uploads.

When you request to download all uploaded files or a subset, the system needs to prepare and zip these files before the download link is sent to you via email. This is why there might be a delay, and it is normal for it to take several hours depending on the size and number of files.

If you have requested a backup and have not received the link after several hours, it could be due to the volume of data being processed. Please ensure your email is not filtering these messages into spam or junk folders as well.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Reach out again if you need any other help.

    Hi Darcy,

I checked the email logs and saw that the zip files were already sent to you. You can easily View Your Form Email Logs in your account settings. Let me show you how:

    1. Go to the History tab on your Account Settings page.
    2. Click on All Actions in the top-right corner of the History page, and in the dropdown menu that opens, scroll down to the bottom and select Emails.
    3. Click on the External Link icon on the right side of the Form ID to open the email of the related submission.

Can you check your spam folders or other folders to see if the email is there? You can try to Whitelist Jotform IP Addresses and Domains and add noreply@jotform.com and noreply@formresponse.com to your contact list to avoid emails going to your spam folder.

Let us know if you need any more help.

    • The time it takes to generate a downloadable file of all attachments depends on the total number and size of files in your account.
    • For large submissions with many attachments, it can take several hours or even a full day for the system to prepare the backup link.
    • If even a small subset request is stuck, it may indicate a queue delay on the service provider’s side.
    • Normally, you should receive the link within a few hours, but if it’s been over 24 hours, you should contact support to check if the export job failed or is stuck.

Furthermore, if you are interested to know how you can share files quickly and reliably, you can try xendarapp.com for that.

    Hi Darcy,

I just wanted to confirm if your download request was processed, and the zip file link was sent to your email. If you haven’t seen it yet, check your spam or junk folders, and make sure noreply@jotform.com and noreply@formresponse.com are added to your contact list to prevent future filtering.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.
