    Hi,

I’ve already raised a concern about the phone field issue. Since Twilio hasn’t responded and D7 is quite expensive, is there a way we can secure the phone field using JotForm’s built-in features instead?

    Hi SLG,

I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Jotform provides strong security for your form data, including phone fields, through industry-standard protections. All forms are served over a secure 256-bit SSL connection with a SHA256 certificate. Submissions are encrypted with high-grade RSA 2048 encryption on the user's device before being securely transferred and stored on Jotform's servers.

Jotform's servers are hosted on major cloud platforms like Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, which follow strict security best practices for hardware, physical security, and network infrastructure. This ensures your data is well protected without needing additional third-party services.

For more details, you can check out Jotform Security Measures.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

this is about the support request "Verify entered phone number"

which is I need to have an advance rule in the form for phone so we can have a right information.

Tech support suggested using either the Twilio or D7 widget, both of which I’ve already tried. However, Twilio still hasn’t responded to my concern, and D7 is too expensive to use. My question is—can I instead use JotForm’s built-in phone field and make it more secure? Right now, anyone can enter any number, even if it’s not valid. I’d like to ensure that only valid phone numbers can be submitted.

    Hi mtullao,

Unfortunately, we don't have any other phone validation widget or integration that verifies phone numbers besides the SMS Confirmation widget.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi mtullao,

Unfortunately, we don't have an option to mask the SMS Confirmation widget, as it doesn't have a masking option in its settings. We can only mask the text fields on Form Builder such as Short Text fields. Can you explain the issue that you're having with the SMS Confirmation widget and why you want to mask its field?

As soon as we hear back from you, we can work on getting you a solution for this.

I’d like to use JotForm’s built-in phone field feature, but I want to make sure that only valid phone numbers can proceed. Is there a way to set this up?

    Hi mtullao,

Currently, the only available widget or element that will send out a verification code to the form user mobile number is SMS Confirmation and D7 Verification. Could you review this video to check if you are using the correct credentials when using SMS Confirmation widget?

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

As I mentioned, I already set up D7 and while it works, it’s expensive—most of my credits have already been used during testing, and I’d need to keep paying more. On the other hand, Twilio still isn’t authenticating, and their support hasn’t responded. That’s why I’m asking—can I just use JotForm’s regular phone field instead? If so, is there a way to configure it so that only valid phone numbers can be submitted?

    Hi mtullao,

Would you consider Input Masking as validation for phone numbers? If you do, you can also use the Short Text element Input Masking feature to enforce restricted input format, i.e., valid phone numbers input format only. I suggest checking out the guide on Getting Started With the Basics of Input Masking.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

I’ve already tried this. While it only accepts numbers, the issue is that if someone enters something like 000 0000 0000 or any random sequence, it still goes through. I need a way to prevent invalid numbers like this from being accepted.

    Hi mtullao,

We understand aside from masking entered phone numbers, you'd like to make sure they are also valid. That's why your first requirement is to send verification and enter a code. The basic form elements like Short Text, Number, and Phone Number don't support this. Only the widgets recommended by my teammates will meet the input masking and verification requirements for phone numbers.

Reach out to us if you need any more help.
