Inventory widget not working correctly.

Good afternoon! I am currently using the Inventory Widget in a form titled "Library Pass Request Form (25-26 SY). In this form, students first select their lunch period. They are then taken to one of four inventory widgets based on the lunch they selected. They then select a pass and submit the form.

10 passes are available for each widget. The following day, I "restock" the widget using one of two methods:

    1) Last year (in a different form), I set the Available Quantity of passes to 0 then set it to 10.

    2) This year, I add to the Available Quantity of passes until the total available is again set to 10.

Neither method works. On any given day, we will have more than 10 students reserve a pass, but the passes are never correctly subtracted from the Inventory. Students keep reserving passes because the widget will say 7-8 are available, but over 10 have already been reserved.

Is there a way to fix this? It's one of the main reasons we use Jotform, so I fear we will need to switch to a different product. Everything appears to be set up correctly.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Regarding the issue with the Inventory Widget in your "Library Pass Request Form (25-26 SY)," where the available passes are not correctly subtracted and restocking methods are not working as expected, here are some important points and suggestions:

The Inventory Widget is designed to automatically reduce the available quantity based on submissions. However, restocking by manually setting the available quantity to 0 and then back to 10, or incrementally adding to the available quantity, might not work as intended because the widget tracks inventory based on submissions and does not reset automatically.

To manage inventory effectively, consider these steps:

    1. Ensure the Inventory Widget is properly set up: The Available Quantity should reflect the total stock, and the widget settings like "Submit Value With Label" should be set to No for accurate calculations.
    2. Restocking: Instead of manually adjusting the available quantity in the widget, you may need to reset or clone the form daily or use a workflow to clear previous submissions that affect the inventory count.
    3. Inventory Management: The widget automatically decreases stock when submissions are made, but it does not automatically increase stock unless you reset the form or manage submissions accordingly.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in feature to automatically restock the Inventory Widget daily by resetting the available quantity. You might need to explore custom solutions or workflows to clear or archive submissions to reset inventory counts.

For detailed setup and management, you can refer to the Jotform Inventory Widget guide and best practices on managing product stock in forms.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Adam,

Keep in mind that the Inventory Widget is designed to automatically reduce the available quantity based on submissions and does not reset automatically. I tried this on my cloned form, and when I added a new stock to the Available Quantity, it automatically deducted 1 because of my submission.

    Shirized,

Thank you for getting back to me! I've deleted all current submissions and reset the available quantity. I'm going to see if this works tomorrow. Either way, I'll let you know how it goes!

    Best,

    Adam
