Ability to create private PDF template

I have created a PDF receipt for one of my forms that I would like to be able to duplicate on some of my other forms. However, I can't find an option to save the PDF as a template. In the PDF editor, if I go into PDF Settings, the only option is to "share" the PDF with the "Jotform community." I don't want to share it publicly - just with myself!

Please let me know if I have missed something.

    Hi Sara,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Currently, Jotform does not offer a direct option to save a PDF as a reusable template for other forms. The "share" option in PDF Settings is intended for sharing with the Jotform community publicly, and there isn't a built-in feature to save PDFs privately for personal reuse across multiple forms.

One workaround is to manually recreate the PDF layout for each form or duplicate the form itself if the structure is similar, which will also duplicate the PDF. Unfortunately, there isn't a direct way to save and apply a PDF template privately across different forms at this time.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Sara,

Looks like that feature isn’t available just yet. I’ve passed your request along to our Developers so they can review it. Whether or not it’s developed, and when, will depend on their workload, how doable it is, and how many other users ask for it too. If/when there are any updates, we’ll update this thread so you’re the first to know.

Thank you so much, Chris! It looks to me like this feature was available in the past - I found instructions on Google showing how to do it from several years ago. I'm sure many users would love to see it brought back. I appreciate your efforts.

    Hi Sara,

In the PDF Editor, the Share as Template option you see is intended for sharing your PDF template publicly with the Jotform community, and there is no built-in option to keep a PDF template private for your own use across different forms.

Alternatively, if your forms have similar structures, you can clone the entire form, which will also duplicate the associated PDF receipt. Then you can adjust the duplicated form and its PDF as needed. Cloning an Existing Form From a URL is easy. Let me walk you through it:

    1. On your My Workspace page, click on Create on the top-left side of the page.

    2. Select Form from the assets, and then click on Import Form.

    3. In the next window, click on From a Web Page

    4. Paste the form link into the Enter URL field and click on Create Form.

Also, your feedback has been noted by our developers for future consideration. If there are any updates, we will inform you through this thread.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.
