I am trying to use tables to prefill my form. I have checked if everything is mapped correctly and it is. However, it only pulling data from the first few columns and prefilling it even though I have mapped to fill in the remaining data with prefill. What is going on and how can I fix it?

    Hi Madison,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. When using Prefill with Tables, only specific field types are supported for prefill mapping. If your mapped fields include text areas, multiple-choice fields, or widgets with complex formatting, the prefill may only pull data from the simpler, supported fields (like Short Text, Email, or Dropdowns). That’s why you’re seeing only the first few columns populate while the rest remain blank. To fix this, here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Check supported field types and ensure the target fields in your form are compatible with Prefill (Short Text, Email, Number, Dropdown, etc.).
    2. Simplify mapping. If some fields are multiline or widget-based, try switching them to Short Text or Dropdown fields for testing.
    3. Test with a new Table by creating a simplified test Table with only basic text or email values and connect it to confirm that prefill works correctly. This will help isolate if the issue is field-type related.
    4. Clear old mappings, as sometimes duplicate or conflicting mappings can cause partial fills. Remove all mappings, save, then remap one by one to verify. Check out our guide on How to Prepopulate Form Fields With Data From Other Tables to learn more.

Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.
