I am interested in switching from Typeform to Jotform for a book donation program that we have. I am wondering if it possible to create a template where the new product list can be uploaded twice a year and for all the products, it will have a text box quantity selector (without having to go into each individual product and add that option).

    Hi Mara,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Yes, it is possible to create a template in Jotform where you can upload a new product list twice a year and have a text box quantity selector for all products without adding the option individually to each product. You can add a Quantity Selector as a text box to your products in the Product List settings. This way, customers can enter the quantity they want directly.

    Here’s how to do it:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder and click on the Product List field.
    2. Click the Shopping Cart icon to open the Product List window.
    3. Edit a product by clicking the Pencil icon next to it.
    4. Under the Options tab, click Add next to Add a Quantity Selector.
    5. Select Text Box as the Quantity Selector type.
    6. Save your settings.

You can apply this to your product template so that when you update your product list, the quantity selector will be included for all products automatically.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Mara,

You can absolutely create a form to manage your book donation program, but the way product lists and quantity selectors work is a bit different than in Typeform.

If you use Jotform’s Product List field (found under Payments), each item you add will automatically include built-in options like quantity, sizes, or variations. Nevertheless, these options are set per product, meaning you would normally need to configure them one by one. Unfortunately, there isn’t a single toggle that applies a text box quantity selector to all products at once.

That said, there are two possible workarounds:

    • Bulk import and update: You can upload your product list twice a year using Jotform’s Import Data or by recreating the Product List from a spreadsheet with the Spreadsheet to Form widget or dynamic dropdowns. This way, you won’t need to edit each product manually.
    • Use a configurable list or input table: Instead of the Product List, you can use a Configurable List widget or an Input Table. This allows you to list all books in rows, with a quantity text box next to each. When it’s time to update the catalog, you just replace the list of book titles in one place, and each will already have its own quantity input.

If your priority is efficiency in updating the list twice a year, option #2 (Configurable List/Input Table) is usually the smoother approach. If you also need payment processing tied directly to each product, then the Product List is better, but it requires more manual setup.

Reach out anytime if more questions come to mind.
