We want to have a jotform, which will let visitors submit formatted text, as you see below (note the bold; we can handle the bullet points), which will populate their profile pages on our site. Can we let them specify which text is bold?Or perhaps we should provide two fields (subtitle and text) for each bullet below, and we will add the formatting when we transform the raw data into html. Thanks!

Hi rtolmach,
Thanks for reaching out to us for help. Regarding your question about allowing visitors to submit formatted text in your Jotform that includes bold text and bullet points, here’s how you can approach it:
Option 1: Use Multiple Fields for Formatting
You can provide two separate fields for each bullet point—one for the subtitle (which can be the bold part) and another for the descriptive text. This way, you can control the formatting yourself when transforming the raw data into HTML on your site, ensuring consistent styling.
Option 2: Use a Rich Text Editor Widget
Alternatively, you can use Jotform's Rich Text Editor widget, which allows users to apply formatting such as bold, italics, and bullet points directly within the form. This widget will capture the formatted text submitted by users, which you can then display on your site.
Also, if you are you referring to the Long text field? If so, that can be achieved by setting it to Rich Text. Let me show you how:
In Form Builder, click on the Long text field's gear icon.
Under the Options tab and Editor Mode, change it to Rich Text.
You can also add a Paragraph field and customize the text added. Here's how:
In Form Builder, click on Add Form Element menu on the left.
Add Paragraph field form the Basic tab.
Add the text and click on Source code icon to edit them.
Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

How does the formatted text appear in the google sheet, which we integrate with the form?

Hi rtolmach,
When using Jotform's Rich Text Editor widget or the Long Text field set to Rich Text, the formatted text submitted by users will be captured with its formatting (such as bold, italics, bullet points) intact within the form submission data.
However, when this data is integrated with Google Sheets, the formatting (like bold or bullet points) does not carry over. The text will appear as plain text in the Google Sheets cells without any rich text formatting. See screenshot below for the result:
If you need to preserve formatting for display purposes, you might consider handling the formatting on your website by storing and rendering the HTML content submitted from the form rather than relying on Google Sheets to maintain the formatting.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

Hi rtolmach,
Integrating your form into Google Sheets is easy. Let me walk you through it:
1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
2. In the menu on the left, click on Integrations and select the Google Sheets integration.
3. Now, select an action and click on Next.
4. Connect your Google account and click on Authenticate.
5. Customize settings as you want, and once you finish customizing it, click on the Save button at the bottom right of the settings.
