    Hello,

Last week all of a sudden captcha turned on when opening a specific form and was slowing things down in a mind blowing way. I tried suggested fixes from the AI thing (unique field or submission limits): not successful. The form is used to record observations and each form may get filled and submitted 3-4 times in a five minute time span,

the form is: Brightwater Environmental Conditions Readings

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Ihor Barwinsky

    Hi Ihor,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Regarding the sudden activation of captcha on your Brightwater Environmental Conditions Readings form causing slowdowns, since the usual fixes like unique field and submission limits didn't work, I recommend checking your form's anti-spam settings and any recent changes that might have triggered this behavior.

If the form is expected to have multiple submissions in a short time, you might want to adjust or disable captcha temporarily to avoid delays.

Let me know if you need detailed steps on how to adjust these settings.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

How do I toggle the anti-spam settings?

    Hi Ihor,

I've checked your form and didn't see the Captcha element added. I also cloned the form and made a test submission but was unable to run into a captcha. Here's a screencast when I filled out the cloned form:

Is your form embedded on a website? If yes, can you share with us the link to the website? In addition, I've cleared the forms' caches. Although Clearing Your Form Caches isn't done automatically, it's easy to do it manually. Let me show you how:

    1. On your My Workspace page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the dropdown menu, click on Settings.Captcha has suddenly tuned on and is causing problems Image 2 Screenshot 51

    3. In the Settings menu, click on Clear Cache. And that's it, you're done.Captcha has suddenly tuned on and is causing problems Image 3 Screenshot 62

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

    Hello Kris,

    Thanks for getting on this.

My worker just now reported that the captchas have stopped, without me toggling anything. If they reoccur I will follow your instructions posted in the above messages. I think it was your clearing of caches that did it.

Thanks for your insights and solutions,

    Ihor

    Hi Ihor,

CAPTCHA may suddenly appear on your form as a built-in Jotform security measure. It’s triggered when the system detects an unusually high number of submissions coming from the same user or IP within a short period, as this can look like spam or bot activity. Since your form receives frequent submissions in quick succession, the system might be misinterpreting this as suspicious behaviour.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can do for you.
