In my expense report, when users enter a value in the Amount field AND they end the number with a decimal point but don't put anything after it, the conditional calculation doesn't recognize it. I want to find a way to either:
a) Allow the calculation to recognize that a number like 123. is equal to 123.00 so it's picked up. Or
b) Create some kind of input mask that allows different lengths of number entries like 123.40 or 7.98 or 84.56. They all seem so specific where ###.## only allows a number in the hundreds. Or
c) Some kind of warning that they're using the wrong format and must either leave off the decimal point or follow it with "00"
Can you help me with any of these things? I didn't know if any of the syntax following the Amount field could help me do that?
thanks, let me know if what I'm asking for is too confusing!

Hi Stace,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I can see you’re using the Configurable List Widget for expense reporting, and the Amount field is set as a number type. The behavior you’re experiencing is actually expected because when someone enters a value like 123., with a decimal but no numbers after it, Jotform doesn't recognize it as a valid number.
For calculations to work, the entry must either be a whole number, like 123, or a complete decimal for example, 123.00 or 123.40. This is why 123. is ignored in your calculation, it’s treated as an incomplete value rather than a proper number. To prevent this, you can either configure the field to only accept two decimal places, so users are guided to enter the full format, or use a calculation adjustment like Amount + 0 which helps convert the input into a valid number.
Let us know if you need any more help.

Hi Stacey,
Adding sublabels to the subfields of the Configurable List widget is unsupported. The usual form element used for instructions or guides is the Paragraph element. You can add it before the Configurable List widget. Doing this is easy, let's walk through this together:
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Build.
- Click on Add Element + in the menu on the left side of the page.
- Under the Form Element, go to the Basic tab and drag and drop the Paragraph element into the form's page.
- Click on the Pencil icon of the Paragraph element to edit.
- Enter the instructions you'd like the form users to follow.
- Finally, hit the Check icon on the right side to Save.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

How do I configure the field to only access two decimal places? I was trying to do that with the input mask but couldn't figure out how. Maybe in the css?
thanks for your help

Hi Stace,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to use CSS on the Configurable list widget to limit users to only inputting two decimal places. Input Mask can't be used for the Configurable list widget either, as it does not support it. The workaround for this is to use regular text fields, like a Short Text field, to be able to use the Masking option or add instructions on top of the widget as suggested in Kris's reply.
While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
