Product List: Is the One Use limit of the coupon code for one person only?

If I make a coupon and the coupon is good for 1 use, can I give the coupon to several people? Or is it "used up" once one person uses it? In other words, is the "one use" meant for more than one person or is it just a one-time use and once it's used by someone, the coupon can't be used by anyone else?
