Hi there,
I want to create a workflow that:
- Client completes Form A
- Form A fields prefill Form B
- Psychologist on my team receives a link to the prefilled Form B
Is this possible?
Here's a 3-min video explaining what I am looking for:

Hi strategicpsych,
Thank you so much for providing the detailed explanation of what you are trying to achieve — that really helps us understand your workflow better.
I’d like to clarify that the Edit Link option only allows respondents to re-open and edit their own submission in the same form. In your case, since you want to collect new information in Form B based on the answers from Form A, the correct approach is to use Form Prefill.
Here’s how you can set it up:
- Open Form B and go to Settings > Prefill > Form Prefill.
- Select Form A as the source form and map the matching fields (Name, Email, Date of Birth, etc.).
- Once saved, Form B will generate a prefill URL template. This creates links where the fields from Form A are automatically filled in.
Next, you’ll need to deliver this prefilled link to the psychologist:
- In Form A, set up a Notification Email.
- Use the psychologist’s email field as the recipient.
- Inside the email body, insert the prefill link you generated from Form B. This way, when Form A is submitted, the psychologist immediately receives an email with a link that opens Form B, already filled with the patient’s details.
When the psychologist clicks the link, they’ll see Form B with the transferred data, and they can complete and submit the rest of the fields as a brand-new submission.
This workflow avoids the limitations of the Edit Link and ensures that each form submission remains separate while still saving time by reusing the patient’s information.
Please give this a try and let us know how it goes. If you run into any difficulties setting up the prefill workflow, just let us know — we’ll be happy to assist further.
Best!
