Please review the form below.
- When a selection is made, and then changed in the Membership Type field the data is not cleared resulting in inaccurate calculations. Can that be fixed?
- When "New Members" is selected under "Membership Status" the system is set to prorate the dues based on the "Membership Type" selected. The problem I am having is when the 2-Year or 3-Year option is selected, it is prorating the entire amount ($36 or $52). What I want it to do is prorate the first year and then add the full multi-year price on for each additional year. For example if a new member is getting a 3-year membership half way through the membership year (May 1-April 30), the first year’s $16 should be calculated to $8 and the remaining 2 years at $16 each ($32) which comes to $40. The way the tool is set up now it prorates the entire $52 and comes out as $26.
I hope you can help.

One additional item.
The "Start Date" field is set to open at 5-01-2025. When someone selects "Renewals" under membership status the "Start Date" field disappears to ensure calculations are based on the start of the dues year. If someone selects "New Members" the Start Date box appears and can be changed by the user to the current date. The problem is when someone filling out the form incorrectly chooses "New Members" changes the date and then realizes they need to go back to "Renewals." When the do that "Start Date" remains on the altered date and does not revert back to 5-01-2025. Can that be corrected?

Hi Andy,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Instead of a Multiple Choice element, use a Single Choice element so that only one option can be selected at a time. Let me show you how:
1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element menu on the top-left side of the page.
2. Under the Basic tab, drag and drop a Single Choice element to your form.
3. Click Add option in Single Choice to match the number of options with the Multiple Choice.
4. Copy the options from the Multiple Choice and paste them into the Single Choice.
6. Then, select the Multiple Choice again, and click the Gear icon on its right.
7. In Properties Window, click on Advanced tab.
8. While on Advanced tab, toggle ON the Hide field option.
9. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on the Settings.
10. In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Conditions.
11. In the Conditions page, select the 5 conditions that insert a value in the Membership field.
12. Then, click on the Disable button.
14. Then, select Update/Calculate field from the list.
Check out the screencast below showing how the Single Choice element affects the fields that display calculations:

Start Date Not Resetting When Switching from New Members to Renewals
Let us know how it turns out.

If I create the single choice Membership Type as outlined above, why do I need to disable and reenter the five conditions? Couldn't I just change on the drop down from 14 Membership Type to 15 Membership Type?
Also I am assuming you are still working on the other two issues, correct?

Hi Andy,
My colleague recommended disabling the five conditions linked to the previously added multiple choice field. Since the suggested approach is to replace it with a single choice element, new conditions should ideally be created to match the updated field. But if you prefer, you can also update the existing five conditions by replacing the old field with the new one, instead of creating them from scratch.
Reach out again if you need any more help.
