Hi Jamal,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:
You can create a signable document in Jotform and have form submissions pre-filled into it by using Jotform Sign. Here’s how:
- Go to My Sign Documents and create a signable document by uploading your file or using a template.
- Use the Sign Builder to detect and add fields to your document, assigning them to signers as needed.
- When sending the document for signature, you can link it to your form submissions so the data is pre-filled in the sign document.
This way, your form submissions will automatically populate the sign document fields, streamlining the signing process.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I am not seeing your step 3 when I try to follow your instructions.

Hi Jamal,
Regarding step 3, linking form submissions to sign documents is done through Jotform Workflows by adding a Sign Document element to your workflow. This lets you select a sign document and assign signer roles, including linking signer fields to your form data.
If you're not using Workflows, the direct linking option won't appear. Consider setting up a workflow to automate this process.

Explain the entire process to me, from having the submissions received including setting up the workflow.

Hi Jamal,
Here’s the full process to prefill submissions into a sign document using Jotform:
- Receive submissions: Create your form and collect submissions as usual.
- Create signable document: Go to My Sign Documents, upload your document or use a template, then use Sign Builder to detect and add fields.
- Set up workflow: In Workflow Builder, add the Sign Document element. Select your sign document and assign signer roles, linking signer fields to form data.
- Automate sending: Connect the Sign Document element in your workflow to trigger sending the prefilled document for signature after form submission.
- Track progress: Use Sign Inbox to monitor signing status and manage documents.

I was able to do the workflow done to include the sign document. However, i am not seeing any option that will prefill the sign document being sent.

Hi Jamal,
Unfortunately, prefilling a Signed Document, even when creating a Workflow on the source form, is currently not available. While that feature isn’t available in Jotform right now, I’ve sent your request to our Developers for review. When or if it gets developed will depend on their current workload, how possible it is, and how much demand there is from other users. When we have any updates, we’ll follow up here and keep you posted.
Reach out again if there’s anything else we can do for you.
