Issue with calculations

I’m encountering two issues in my form:

    1. When I edit selections (e.g., change services or add-ons), the “Base rent” and "add-ons" calculation field continues to add values rather than recalculating or subtracting correctly.
    2. In one calculation scenario, “Base rent + 200 + 200” doesn’t produce the right result.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

    • Ensured that all added fields and operators in the Form Calculation Widget are marked as Numeric.
    • Reviewed conditional logic for recalculating totals when inputs change—however, edits still trigger value accumulation.

Could you help me configure the form so the calculation resets or updates correctly upon edits? I’d appreciate any assistance or best practices for setting this up.

    Thanks!

    Hi GVCenter,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue with the Base rent and Add Ons, but everything was working properly. Check out the screencast below to see my results: Issue with calculations Image 1 Screenshot 30 Regarding with the Base Price + 400 calculation, the reason why the calculation is not working is that there are two Plus sign next to each other. Take a look at the screenshot below to see your current setup:

You can easily fix it by removing the other one. If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better?

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can help you with.

Hi! I solved the second issue, thanks! In regards to the first issue, it adds just fine but if I change it back to 0, it doesn't update or substracts.

    Hi GVCenter,

I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, and I ran into the same issue. To make sure that the Form Calculation widget resets when a selection is cleared, we will need to change the Quantity Input Type in the Inventory widget. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Inventory widget, and select the Wand icon to open Widget Settings.
    2. Then, under the Quantity Input Type section, click the Dropdown and select Number Input.
    3. Finally, click on the Update button on the lower right corner of the page.
    4. Repeat the process for all the Inventory widgets to calculate the correct selections.
