PDF Editor: Conditionally show blank lines

Hi, I have form that I am using that has evolved into quite a complex form with many conditional fields that only show based on previous answers. Not all questions are required to be answered each time so there are usually a few empty fields.

I have a two part question.

    1) When creating the submission PDF, I have the settings set to hide empty form fields which works great. However, on the submission PDF I would like there to be a distict line break between some answers if they are used. I have been using the line element in the PDF editor for this, however this line still shows on the final PDF even if the form field is empty. Sometimes there could be 6-10 lines bunched up together.

Is there a way to hide the line if the previous element field is empty? Or is there a way to add a border to the element field instead of using the line?

    2) As the submission is somewhat dynamic based on the answers given, the length of the final PDF is variable. As such I am unable to set fixed page breaks as this can result in a few pages with only 1 response per page with 90% of the page blank. When not using page breaks, I find that at times the element field starts at the bottom of one page and continues over to the next, making the response look messy as the heading and half the answer is on one page with the remainder on the next page.

Is there a way to tell the element fields not to split over pages, but instead start on a new page if it is going to span pages?

    Thanks

    Hi Dean,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, the PDF editor doesn't support conditional logic yet. After testing multiple potential methods, unfortunately, there's no way to insert a conditional line in PDF editor, even when the line is conditionally added through a hidden field in Form Builder.

While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know. To avoid confusion, I moved your other question to a new thread and helped you with that here.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

Thanks for the response. I thought it might be difficult.

Could a feature that places a perimeter border around the field be an easier option to implement?

That way if the field is empty, then the border wouldn't show either?

Currently part of my form looks like this with the separator lines

If you could add in a toggle on or off border to the field options it could look like this instead.
