so we have a form that my Property manager uses when we have a new tenant to produce a condition report. However we want the Clean, Unfamaged, working to all be ticked as default and a definite comment added pm the last column like "Brand new" etc
I cant see the option to set value in the field setting
Thanks!

Hi Jarred,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to have a default selection in the Input Table Properties and default answer on the textbox as well. As a workaround, you can use a URL Parameter to set up a default value in the checkboxes or shortext fields of the Input Tables. You can use the format below:
https://jotform.com/251272020101434?dateOf[month]=05&dateOf[day]=08&dateOf[year]=2025&fullName=Jarred%20Katzenberg%20on%20behalf%20of%20Jabel%20Property%20Pty.%20Ltd&agentsCompany=Jabel%20Property&date[month]=05&date[day]=08&date[year]=2025&dateOf64[month]=05&dateOf64[day]=08&dateOf64[year]=2025&dateOf66[month]=05&dateOf66[day]=08&dateOf66[year]=2025&dateOf67[month]=05&dateOf67[day]=08&dateOf67[year]=2025&q85_bedroomCondition[0][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[0][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[0][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[0][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[1][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[1][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[1][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[1][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[2][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[2][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[2][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[2][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[3][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[3][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[3][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[3][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[4][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[4][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[4][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[4][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[5][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[5][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[5][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[5][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[6][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[6][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[6][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[6][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[7][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[7][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[7][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[7][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[8][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[8][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[8][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[8][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[9][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[9][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[9][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[9][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[10][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[10][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[10][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[10][4]=Brand New&q85_bedroomCondition[11][1]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[11][2]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[11][3]=true&q85_bedroomCondition[11][4]=Brand New&date201[month]=05&date201[day]=08&date201[year]=2025&date203[month]=05&date203[day]=08&date203[year]=2025
Let me show you how you can generate the URL:
- Go to Field Prepopulator.
- Click on Populate Field and authorize the app.
- Select the Form that you want to populate the Input Table.
- Fill the fields that you want to populate.
- Click on Generate URL on the top of the page. You can share that URL to your submitters to fill your form.
Here's the screencast for the result:
We also have a guide about Prepopulating Form Fields via URL Parameters.
While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, rest assured we’re always working to add new services and features to Jotform. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
