Default Value option is missing on my Short Text field Properties

Short Text Field Missing "Default Value" Setting Despite Classic Form Layout

Hello Jotform Support,

I am encountering a persistent problem in my account when trying to configure a Short Text field inside the Form Builder:

I have created a new form starting from scratch.

I confirmed the form is set to All Questions on One Page (Classic Form Layout).

I have added a Short Text Entry field.

When opening the field's Properties > General tab, I only see options for Field Label, Label Alignment, Required, Sublabel, and Duplicate Field.

The "Default Value" box is missing entirely from the field settings.

Troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

Tried different browsers (Chrome, Edge).

Cleared cache and cookies.

Logged out and logged back in.

Started a brand new form from scratch.

Confirmed I am not using the mobile app — this is on a desktop web browser.

Despite all of this, the "Default Value" option is still not appearing in the Short Text field settings.

Could you please review my account and settings to identify and correct this issue?

I am trying to use a hidden Short Text field to pass a Record Type ID value automatically into Salesforce through integration, and missing the Default Value setting is blocking this workflow.

I do not want to use any of the workarounds - I would preferto have the field UI fixed becuse URL prefill is not viable for my app/website.

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked the email address you provided, but I can't find a registered Jotform account associated with it. Can you share the form URL so we can check it on our end? You can easily find your form's URL in Form Builder. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Publish.
2. In the Quick Share tab, click on Copy Link in the Share With Link section.

But, if you want to locate the Default Value option, it is under the Advanced tab. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, go to the Short Text field then click on Properties.
2. Go to Advanced tab and there you can see the Default Value option.
