Continued Issues with Paypal Connection

    Hello,

I still cannot get my Paypal business account to link to my Jotform. I followed the directions exactly from the last support chat I had. Why can't I have my Paypal business account linked up to accept payments while people purchasing tickets have the option to use their own credit cards or paypal accounts to pay for tickets? This worked on my last form in November just fine and now it wont work. This is very frustrating, I am considering canceling my membership and moving to another service because this is a very basic component Jotform cannot do. Please advise on how to correct this. Thank you. The error I keep getting is below: Continued Issues with Paypal Connection Image 1 Screenshot 20

    Hi mfittipaldi,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand how frustrating it is when something that previously worked now causes issues. The problem you're experiencing may be due to recent changes on PayPal’s end and updated requirements for integrating PayPal Business with Jotform.

To clarify, for your customers to pay using either their PayPal account or a credit/debit card, your PayPal Business account must:

    • Be fully verified
    • Have PayPal Guest Checkout enabled
    • Have Instant Payment Notification (IPN) turned on

Also, note that PayPal's Pay with Debit or Credit Card option may not always appear due to regional restrictions, account settings, or browser behavior. We’d be happy to help resolve this. Can you confirm the following so we can troubleshoot further:

    1. Is your PayPal Business account fully verified and active?
    2. Have you enabled Guest Checkout in your PayPal account settings?
    3. What exact error message are you receiving on the form?

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply. Everything on the Paypal account's end is fine. I was able to link the same Paypal account without issue in October/November. Can you please go in and link my paypal account to accept payments? I have tried everything Jotform has suggested and nothing has worked. Please advise. Thanks

    Hello,

I am trying to follow these instructions but Jotform needs to send me a verification email so that I can change my security settings. I have requested the email multiple times and I still have not received it. Please help, I am not sure why using this site is so complicated.

    Hi mfittipaldi,

When I tested my account, I also wasn't able to get the verification code. But all the emails are coming now. I've checked our email logs again and can see now that the verification emails were sent to you already. Can you check it now?

Keep us updated and let us know how it goes.

    Hi mfittipaldi,

I've checked your form, and it appears that your form is connected with PayPal Standard. Check out my screenshot below:

As you can see the preferred paypal account is already linked to my jotform account as a paypal standard account. I cannot change it to the business account. Yet we were still able to collect payments with this paypal account back in October/November? Please make it so this account that is already linked can accept payments from that form. Thank you.

Is there anyway someone from Jotform could call me? I do not know what else to do. We used this Paypal account for our last event. Please let me know as I am considering canceling my Jotform subscription today.

    Hi mfittipaldi,

We don’t currently offer live phone support. If you have any questions, just reply to this thread, or you can create a Help Center thread from the Contact Us page. We’ll be happy to help.

Now, coming back to your question, could you try to remove your PayPal Standard integration from your form, add it again, and try to connect it with your PayPal account? Let me walk you through the steps:

Removing PayPal Standard integration from your form:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Element+. Continued Issues with Paypal Connection Image 1 Screenshot 70

The three dots next to paypal standard under payments on the elements form do not show up. I do not have the option to see the 3 dots and select the new gateway.

Why is this so difficult? I do not understand why this simple form cannot be created after I paid $41 for a subscription.

Is there a way for Jotform to switch my linked paypal account to a paypal business account with my permission?

    Hi mfittipaldi,

We can't integrate your PayPal Business account because you need a login credentials for PayPal for that. Can you try to remove the PayPal Standard from your account settings and reintegrate it with PayPal, and not the PayPal Standard? But first, you need to disconnect PayPal Standard from your form. Let me walk you through this:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Credit Card icon on the upper right side of the page.
    2. Click on the Trash Can icon of your current Payment Connection.
    3. From the modal, click on Yes, Remove.
    4. Click on Add Payment Connection. Continued Issues with Paypal Connection Image 1 Screenshot 50
    5. Click on My Account.Mollie Integration: Switch from test mode to live mode Image 2 Screenshot 71 Screenshot 61
    6. You'll be redirected to your account settings. Click on the View button of your PayPal Standard Integration. Continued Issues with Paypal Connection Image 2 Screenshot 72
    7. Click on the Three Dots icon on the upper right side of the page.
    8. Click on DeleteContinued Issues with Paypal Connection Image 3 Screenshot 83

You can now go back to your form and use your credentials on PayPal to connect your PayPal Business account. Remember to use PayPal and not the PayPal Standard.Continued Issues with Paypal Connection Image 4 Screenshot 94Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Is there a way to link the paypal account via their paypal qr code? I am not the owner of the paypal account, my organization is running the jotform on behalf of another organization that owns the paypal account. Is there a way to let the other organization contact jotform just to provide their paypal info and have it linked to the form and then my jotform account can still manage the registrations? I dont understand what has changed from October/November where everything worked fine this way until now. Thank you.

    Hi mfittipaldi,

Jotform does not support linking PayPal accounts via QR codes for payment integration. Since the PayPal Business account belongs to another organization, the account owner must log in and authorize the connection directly.

Jotform cannot link a PayPal Business account without the owner's login credentials or authorization. The organization can either provide their PayPal login details or complete the integration themselves. Once connected, you can still manage registrations and submissions from your Jotform account without needing to own the PayPal account.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
