Jotform Appointments: Can I add people to an existing event?

With the Appointment widget in Jotform, is there a way to add people to an existing event on a calendar?

I have tried doing this with the group functionality, then integrating a Google calendar, but when I tried these:

    1. A new event would be added to a calendar for every separate person that signed up instead of being added to an existing event
    2. When I integrated the calendar with the group option, it would only allow one person to sign up for an appointment at a time.

Can you let me know if I am doing something incorrectly?

    Thanks!

    Hi Katelyn,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. You asked if it's possible to add multiple people to an existing event on Google Calendar using the Jotform Appointment widget and mentioned issues with group functionality creating separate events for each person and limiting sign-ups to one person at a time.

Here's how it works and what you can do:

The Jotform Appointment widget integrates with Google Calendar by creating a new event for each appointment booked through your form. This means it does not add multiple people to a single existing event but creates separate events for each appointment slot booked. This is why you see a new event for every person who signs up. So it's not possible to add contacts to existing events as of now. While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

And regarding your question about the group feature, you can take a look here.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

The group booking feature has been announced by jotform recently, so it is an active feature.

I followed the instructions above from support but when I try to sync my google calendar, the group option disappears so now even though i set the limits to 50, when someone books, they wont be synced to the same appointment to get the same google meeting link to attend the virtual event. Which defeats the purpose of group booking.

    Hi glioperations,

Regarding your question about adding people to an existing event using the Appointment widget and syncing group bookings to Google Calendar, the group booking feature is indeed an active feature in Jotform Appointments.

However, when syncing with Google Calendar, the group option currently disappears, which prevents multiple people from being synced to the same appointment event to share the same Google Meet link. This means that even if you set the limit to 50, each booking creates a separate event in Google Calendar rather than adding multiple attendees to one event.

This behavior is a known limitation and has been escalated to our developers for further consideration. Unfortunately, there is no workaround at the moment to have multiple people booked under the same Google Calendar event with a single meeting link via the Appointment widget's Google Calendar integration.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as our team works on improving this functionality. If there are any updates or changes, we will inform you through this thread.
