Jotform Tables: Exporting to Excel file shows an error when opened

    Dear Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the export function for form submissions. In several of our forms, when I try to export the responses as an Excel file (.xlsx), I receive an error indicating that the file is corrupted.

This problem does not occur when exporting the data as a .csv file — that format works correctly.

I have attempted to open the Excel file both in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. While Google Sheets was able to open the file, it did not display all of the submission data — only a partial set of responses was visible.

Could you please look into this issue and advise on how to resolve it?

    Thank you,

    Bruno

    Hi Bruno,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I cloned your form, made several test submissions, and tried exporting them to an Excel file to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything worked as expected. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

Can you try it again and see how it goes? It might have been a temporary issue that’s already been fixed. If it happens again, let me look into this for you. I’ll just need access to your account to do that. Don't worry, you can disable that again after we're done checking things out. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In the upper-right corner of your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the small window that opens, click on Settings.

    3. In the panel on the left, click on the Security tab.

    4. Then, on the bottom-right side of the page, toggle Jotform Support Access to the On position.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

    Hi John,

I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to apologize for the confusion earlier — the file wasn't opening on my end due to an issue with Excel on my machine. After reconfiguring the program, everything is now opening properly.

Turns out the problem wasn’t the file... it was me all along! 😅

Luckily, I’ve fixed myself, so we're all set now!

    Best regards,

    Bruno
