I am attempting to use Loom Recorder in on of our forms. I have created an account with loom and added the "public ID" to the form. I have also downloaded the app and added the Loom extension to my edge browser. The error, "cannot connect to loom" is still popping up. I have run out of things to try. Please help.

Hi CCE_Specialties,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support and providing the details regarding the issue with the Loom Recorder integration in your form. Can you share the form URL with us so we can take a closer look at it?
It sounds like you’ve already completed the main setup steps, including creating a Loom account, installing the Loom browser extension, and entering your Public App ID into the form. The error message cannot connect to Loom typically indicates a connection or configuration issue between the widget and Loom’s services.
First, double-check the Public App ID entered in the widget settings. It must match exactly what is shown in your Loom Developer Console. Even a small typo or extra space can cause a failure to connect. Next, ensure that the Loom browser extension is active and has the necessary permissions. In Microsoft Edge, go to the extensions menu, select Loom, and make sure it’s allowed to run on all websites or at least on jotform.com.
Also, Loom requires third-party cookies to be enabled for the integration to work properly. If your browser is set to block third-party cookies, this could interfere with the connection. Check your browser’s privacy settings and allow third-party cookies. While Microsoft Edge is supported, we recommend trying the form in Google Chrome to see if the issue persists. Some users experience more stable performance with Loom in Chrome.
It’s also worth considering any network restrictions that may be in place. If you’re on a corporate or school network, firewall settings may be blocking Loom’s connection. You can test this by switching to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot. Lastly, make sure you’re not using incognito or private browsing mode. Many extensions, including Loom, are disabled by default in these environments.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
